Glad I found this video, switching from a Sony A7IV to the XT4 (some might call me crazy) as I just can’t stand the, as you worded it well, ‘clinical’ look of the images on the Sony line. I bought into the edgy bokeh trend on Instagram but i just feel like my photos have no soul and don’t evoke anything for me, but Fuji colours are just something else! Great video, funny stuff too

Getting my X-T4 was one of the best decisions I've ever made tbh...I find myself picking it up and documenting my everyday life a lot more often then when I had my 5DIII, 6D, EOS R, etc. The difference in weight is ridiculous...Nicely done, Adam!

It, along with the X100V, is the best camera I’ve ever owned. It’s a great in between of both video and stills. The video can be improved but it’s definitely useable.

My concern is the reliability of the camera. I’ve had to send it back twice, once for the screen going dead and the shutter button freezing! 🥶💸💸💸

Mate, maaate, what good content, found you because I’m wrestling with the dilemma of moving away from Sony A to Fuji XT4 and this post came up in the search, and, you’ve helped me a lot here, but you also made me laugh and want to see more of your stuff. So, Hello!

Hello mate. I appreciate you watching and glad you found it funny! I’m looking to upload a video every 2 weeks or so because it’s the only time I can scrape together. Sony make great cameras and are really pushing innovation in the camera market. They’re just a bit soulless and clunky to use in my opinion after owning a few. I actually only tried Fuji because of the manual dials but soon realised I love the Fuji colours too. Hope you manage to reach a decision soon!

With the way u set yrself up I just had to laugh and sbsribe, besides yr honest and pretty accurate points. I bought mine months ago. Was a Sony a6300 user. Im never going back. Still much for me to refine but I do believe this tech bundle has a lot going for itself. Thx for posting Adam

Best of luck with it mate! If any camera with get you to start enjoying photography again, it’s a Fujifilm camera. Don’t forget to shoot raw so you can mess with the profiles in Fujifilm x raw studio.

I switched from Sony A6400 to X-T3. I was in so much pain with Sony, it almost gave me ptsd. How one can produce camera that so uncomfortable to use is beyond me. And the sensor dust, omg. For three years of usage I only cleaned my X-T3 sensor once, never had any sensor dust issues. With Sony, being a vacuum cleaner camera, very first months after I bought it, noticed some big dust speaks that were visible even at f/5.6, and I never exposed a sensor even, never detached the 16-50 kit lens from it since I bought. Then spent an entire 10 swabs kit in attempt to clean it with barely any result. I guess the only plus of Sony was the compact size. I was thinking to switching to X-T4 since it has ibis and such, but couldn't afford it ;c (bought my X-T3 with a huge discount that was for like a week in my region, back in 2020).

Really enjoyed your video and sense of humor. I've never dabbled with Sony cameras so I can't comment on the shade thrown, however own an X-T1 from it's launch and think it's great. I'm considering an upgrade to the X-t4 and since you've owned/used both, what kind of upgrade to low light performance and autofocus improvement can I expect? Mostly care for stills and plan to take photos of team sport action. Have you attempted shooting faster moving subjects with the x- t4 and if so how well does it handle?

  • @adamblack9837

The tracking is great on the XT4. No complaints about autofocus for me. Low light performance isn’t the best in the world but the XT4 is perfectly capable with a fast lens. The use the same sized sensor so I’m not sure how much of a difference you’ll see in your stills to be honest. The XT1 is still an excellent stills camera all these years later. I ultimately upgraded because I wanted the video capabilities. Can’t see what Fuji can do to get me to upgrade from this camera now. It’s excellent.

@@adamblack9837 Thanks. Might buy the lens I plan to shoot action with first and see how the X-T1 handles before changing bodies. Glad you are enjoying the Fuji system, they make great glass.

I don’t know why but I love your sense of humor in this video I do love Fuji film my friend told me I would spend a lot on the lenses so it scared me until this day I have not purchased a Sony or a canon camera

As follower of fashion own Sony and Fuji. To buy X-T4 and selling my X-T3. Keeping my X-T2. Fuji APS-C cameras provide realistic colours; in low-light somewhat bland depending on lens used. By adjusting colour setup in camera a way round this situation. How much longer X-T4 on sale in Europe and US?

They should do something about the weight the next.model. It's as heavy as the ff sony mirrorless without having a good grip.

I'm thinking of getting the xt4 and have already viewed other videos reviewing the camera -- this one is rather differant, a deadpan approach reminding me a bit of John Peel with a twist of Ricky Gervais. I am concerned about the paint wearing off as I have my father's old pentax (1960s) and a mamiya 2 1/4 with no tarnishing. The only other issue that i've heard commonly addressed is the ergonomics of the handle and why this is not the perfect camera for all day shoots especially with heavy lenses.

Yeah I’ve got a black X100V too. An absolutely beautiful camera and the paint job is the same on that. I take really special care but it still has a couple of nicks on it. I don’t mind ultimately because I love the Fuji line with their manual dials and film sims. I don’t find the grip a bother at all on the XT4. It’s plenty deep enough and perfectly comfortable with the heavy 16-55 f2.8 which I use the vast majority of the time.

Lot's of good info in this video, thank you. I'm still on an XT-2, but have been really tempted to make the jump to the XT-4. However, knowing my luck, the XT-5 will probably release soon after my purchase of an XT-4. I'll try to wait a couple more months and we maybe get some news.
