Fujifilm xt20 CARD ERROR

I got this very annoying problem with my Fujifil XT20 just before going on vacation. I got the Card Error message and will not work . I got the card that I bought eight months ago with the camera 64 GB SD SanDisk Extreme Pro U3 C10, a new one 32 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro U3 A1 bought today(used two adapters to check), both same error. I've tried one from a mobile phone, full of data and old, micro SD JC 8GB and is working(used the same adapters to check).

    After receiving no help from Fuji, I decided to buy a Kingston 64GB SDXC "Canvas React" to try, and IT WORKS! Performance seems identical to my Sandisk Extreme Pro which does not work.

    The same problem occurred in juni 2018 with my Fujifilm T20. No SD card functioned anymore. Recently I sent the camera for the fourth time to the Fujifilm service. Twice the camera came back without being repaired. After the third time the motherboard was replaced I could photograph for a few weeks until the same problem happened again. I fine it very unfortunate because I was very satisfied with the results of my camera.

    Happened to me once and the card failed to work with pc also, not only camera. Probably just a unlucky coincidence with these cards it's not like the camera itself decides to destroy a card 😃

    It came back, after two weeks, with the main circuit board changed, with the specifications in the report that is fully functional, but it was not. The release button was not working. I sent it back for another two weeks and it came back with the button working. AFTER 9 SHOTS the CARD ERROR message again. Now, I've sent it for the third time to the repair shop. So, around thre months without camera.

    Same problem for me . All SanDisk memory cards just stopped working this weekend. I tried 3 different SanDisk cards... all had been working fine in my X-T20 and all still work in computer and other cameras. I tried a Transcend card and it works. I'll try a couple other brands of card tomorrow to see if they work. Very frustrating.

    @@grindboyrol Didn't work with a Transcend 64 GB card for me, and not with a SanDisk 64/128 GB either, but it does work with some Kingston SD cards (32 and 64 GB - except for the micro-SD 32 GB).

    @@MrJed_s Sorry man, I did not see your comment until now :) Best to tag me in comment so that I would see it. Here is an update since my initial comment. My X-T20 later got a motherboard failure (the screen suddenly turned pink and green with some sort of "select language" message... upside down). I sent the body back and the motherboard was changed. Some other problems have occurred later on... Unability to focus (both manually and autofocus) with the 50-140 lens and getting very blurred results (still unresolved at this point); and the mechanical shutter got jammed (no longer opens properly, blocking a big corner in the frame) so now I only use the electrical shutter and it does the job so far. Will contact them about those "details" at some point...

    I am facing the same problem on my almost 3 year old XT-20. The 64gb ultra class 10 sandisk suddenly stopped working, I tried 3 other class 10 cards with no success. Finally, the only one that works is an older 4GB Class 4 SD card. I will probabily have to contact the service center...

    I have the same “card error” problem with my Sony card… the camera (XT 4) shows this error and the computer does not recognize the SD CARD, and I had, like, 1000 work pictures there! I don’t know what else could I do with it 😖

    hi, I just unbox my new fuji xt-2 yesterday, same issue. and I also have facing evf freeze issue. freezing and can't off. Very annoying!

    this is my problem now with my xt20. no luck yet with any cards. I thought it was an isolated case, well looks it isnt. it's been months now and still not working sent to service twice already.

    not happening again, i suspect it was just a problem with the card port but since they dont replace just that they replaced the whole motherboard. works like new again@@brianhere8884

    Yeah the reason because the camera is only supported UHS1 and the card you have is UHS3. That's why it's not working

    last weekend I was shooting and during shooting the card error appeared. now the camera only works with old cards. its not accepting my new sandisk etxtreme pro cards anymore. camera does not format the sandisk cards anymore! same problems as in the video.

    The EXACT same thing happened to me, while shooting, camera on a tripod and everything working fine, and suddenly this card error message appear. It does still work for Kingston SD cards though (32, and 64 GB, but NOT with the Micro SD), but not with my brand new SanDisk, and not on another, new Transcend.

    Hello Friend! I am from Brazil and had the same problem with my fujifilm s finepix camera. I believe the problem is because of the class of the card. You used the 8gb card and his class was 4, so it worked.

    @@ganshengkai7060 Try contacting the shop in which you purchased it - They should be able to assist you with that. I will send them mine and see if anything happens

    Michaël Bishop yes I have, I have send back to service centre. After checking they told me that my camera have serious issue especially the camera board. They will exchange new set to me. The camera is new and this was my 1st camera is my life. I was very unlucky. I hope it is not a batch issue.

    Sd U3 card require high power setup, you need to setup this in your camera menu first. Micro Sd card has never been supoort and you should not use it on fuji.

    The issue happened to me today. After some testing, I found that only those old card with slow speed can work. Kingston 32G canvas select plus can work.

    Same for me with other SanDisk (64 and 128 GB). Same for a Transcend 64 GB, but it works well with Kingston 32 and 64 GB.

    @@michaelbishop7043 I buy the second Kingston card, and it worked for about a week. A couple of times even with old SanDisk, but with a new microSD adapter. Then both card stopped working. But sometimes t20 worked with the old slow Transcend card with 1 GB capacity. Thanks Fujifilm and shop guarantee, the camera is replaced.

    I was in the middle of shooting a pair of ospreys with my x-t20 when the card did this same thing. It happened while buffering continuous high shots. I missed the best shots. Oddly the card works just fine in my Nikon D810, and also just fine on my computers. But, still, the X-T20 gets this card error. The error occurs even after formatting the card. Just shoot me

    This happened to me. Sent mine in for repair to fuji, and when I got it back, it worked for a week. I've tried 6 different cards (new and old) and none worked. I've tried reformatting, and nothing as well. I've tried updating the firmware... Nothing worked. All these SD cards worked on my Fuji x-t2, but not for my x-t20. I'm sure fujifilm is aware of this. Hopefully they'll find an firmware update to fix this, Or it could be an issue with the build of the model itself and they just purposely stay silent to protect their brand. I wish I could help you. sorry man, but the x-t20 sucks.

    gan shengkai I too have suddenly the same problem on a previously well functioning XT2. Slot 2 shows red and wouldn’t accept my cards. Frustrating .

    Try change your card with Kingston react plus, for some people it's work, and it is work well for me too.

    It has just happened to me too with three different cards. While shooting yesterday it twice said it had an issue but then recovered. Now it reporting card error nonstop.

    For me was no solution, I got my money back from the shop, after the third time having this problem.
