Great summary, but you forgot one thing: Fuji’s dr400 extended dynamic range mode. The dr400 mode, in short, distributes the exposure more evenly thru the exposure of the images, removing the necessity of underexposing for highlights. It does this by requiring you to shoot at iso 640 or higher. This allows the camera to underexpose the hi lights of an image while boosting the mid tones and shadows…. basically what you eventually do in post if you underexposed your images. It does all of these calculations prior to the analog to digital conversion, so it works in RAW! Between this and the highlight tone curve, you will get more filmic highlight rolloff instead of clipping.

I got a x100v in Oct 2022. Started the downward spiral, fell in love with the Fuji ecosystem. Added a X-H1, ended up selling both and now the X-H2 is my primary camera. I still shoot my R6 as well due to the lenses I have, too good not to use but I am hoping to go GFX at some point. Just love the colors!

I love Fuji cameras. At one time or another I owned the X-E1, X-E2, XT2 and XT3 in addition to the X100 series bodies. They make a fantastic camera. But I sold all my Fuji stuff to go with full frame Canon bodies for work purposes. If I was to get back into Fuji at this point in my career I'd probably go medium format as well.

@@dustinschmidtphoto Yeah, I need to use both systems. The R6 AF is better than the X-H2 (I have not tested the H2s), I use the R6 when accuracy matters and XH2 when I have the leeway for more artistic shooting. The XH2 is very lens dependent when I can shoot wide open using eye af, the Viltrox 75mm is amazing. Now shoot F4-5.6 and the other lenses are fine. Additionally, the cost of the RF primes are just too much. MY 4 Fuji lenses cost the same as my Sigma 105. I am relegated to renting RF glass as needed for jobs, much cheaper!

Being a 16 year Olympus user I cheated in 2022 and got one. I truly hated the camera the first few days I had it. It was day and night difference on Olympus works. But I gave it a chance and stuck with it. It’s a spectacular camera.

I've had it for about four years and like it very much mainly because it's so light and easy to carry. However, because it's quite small the dials can be a bit difficult to see without glasses. And as much as I would like to be able to change lenses, it's an interesting discipline to go around with only one lens. I've never played with the digital tele but I plan to try just to see how well it works. ;-) @@dustinschmidtphoto

@@bobrosberg55 Agreed, it's fun to challenge yourself with a fixed focal length. I've always thought the screw on lenses make for a super interesting 3 lens kit though that's REALLY portable. It's been a few years since I owned them though, so maybe I'm just being nostalgic.

Thanks for the question. I think if you're shooting charts or analyzing corner sharpness and all of that technical jazz, then yeah, the new lens is better. But I can still look back at all of my X100 photos, from the V to all of the previous bodies, and I don't know if I could pick out what was shot on what, without looking at the metadata. The X100 series has always been about capturing the moment for me versus it being my most technical camera. If you really want the V just to have the latest and greatest, then you should get it. But otherwise I don't know if the upgrade is necessary. Happy New Year!

Its funny .. sometimes when u buy a camera after 5 or 6 years u feel like its ok to just sell it off to get a new one (with advamced technology) .. no regret whatsoever… but not x100v .. i am so attached to it and i just love everything about it.. its not a perfect camera but its just perfect for me

@@shuabshungne8043 The 26 Megapixel doesnt equal to 26 Megabyte in Filesize! 17 MB for a Jpeg sounds reasonable. Check the filedata, there you can see the resolution. And a RAW file will always be bigger, because it contains much more information in comparison to a Jpeg. I hope i understood you correctly.
