Thanks for the update. Very interesting. I’m happy with my X-T4 esp since I mainly do landscape work. That being said I am intrigued by the sensor size for the X-H2, and potentially the X-T5. But my next big upgrade for me will be a new computer to handle the larger video files :-).

Hi Caleb! I like that approach - computer upgrade for larger files. When I upgraded to M1 MacBook Pro, it was a game changer for reducing nagging friction of working with Fuji RAW files and for my video work for YT. It's a great time for cameras and computers!

6245x4163 vs 7746x5164 (26 vs 40) isn't really that big of a jump in pixels, so I'm leaning towards the XH2s for the faster sensor.

Always good to see you Michael. This is a very good (excellent) video and thorough review. As you know, after shooting film for over 30 years when I switched to digital I chose Fujifilm simply for the form factor (control dials), not because it was better than other brands, it could have been full frame or micro 4/3, as you mentioned, nobody makes a bad camera, it’s about user experience, preference and above all, it has to be fun to use. I shoot in manual mode, I set the iso, aperture and shutter speed, the only time I went into the menu was to deactivate the touch screen. I’m going to wait and see what the X-T5 is all about, but really the only improvement that I would like to see over my X-T4 is a little better auto focusing speed and accuracy, even though you’ve seen my photos on Instagram and as you can tell, iguanas and spiders don’t move that fast. Be well and stay safe.

Upgrading from X-T4 - it depends! Much easier coming from the X-T3 (larger batter, IBIS, tilty/flippy screen). If you're feeling any particular frustrations with you X-T4 around focusing speed/accuracy and/or video capabilities, then yes, the X-H2S could be a logical upgrade with it's much better autofocusing and video specs. But, gear upgrades aren't always (or need to be!) logical. If it feels like you'd enjoy it, and it's in your budget, go for it :)

The problem with using the front/rear command dial to change the ISO is that those dials are not clickable, therefore you run the real risk of inadvertently changing the value. You brush up against it or it changes when you put it in your bag for example. I set up both the top and bottom buttons on the 4 way controller to ISO, push the top to increase the ISO and the bottom one to decrease it. The first push brings up the present value and the second changes it so their is less chance of inadvertently changing it.

Hi Barry! Thanks for watching and sharing this suggestion. I’m somewhat old school, and use the 4- way controller for focus point selection, but May give this a try. The preference for how a camera feels/works is very personal, so for what it’s worth, I like the bigger grip, and the weight is pretty much the same as my X-T3 with the SmallRig L-Bracket grip I had on it. Good Info. I shoot with the X-T3. So far the XT-5 looks great. The 3 way tilt, battery larger than the T3, Bigger sensor, all are good upgrades from the T3. Being there is no battery grip for the T5, I would like to see a little larger grip on the T5. Nothing like the XH grip. I think that would ruin the esthetics of the T series . Will it have a CF/E type B card slot. This will be good info to have ahead of the release date. I intend to purchase a T5 and would like to get the card before hand. I would assume the battery will be the same as the XH series. Purchasing Two extra batteries and a charger, card reader also prior to ordering the T5 in my plan. If I had the funds, a X-H2S and X-T5 would be landing on my front porch. If only!

  • @MSladekPhoto

Hi! Thanks for sharing this. Total guess here: my impression is that T5 will stay thinner (grip too) and depend on third parties (Small Rig) for grips and L-brackets. The memory card situation is interesting for same reason - is there room for CF Express type B in thin body? Can SD cards handle video data rates? This may be another reason for my no 8k guess on T5. Fujirumors.com is dropping new info just about every day, so we should know lots before announcement on November 2. Cheers!

Dust or a grain of sand can cause friction and can band the very delicate peaces of metal. Besides Sony does a lot of things that make absolutely no sense. In my process of finding a 2nd video camera I gave the zv-e10 a chance, it overheated and shut down after 20 minutes in 4k 24p...but yes you can change a setting in the menu that prevents for overheating, you just have to pray that the overheating warning, is just a warning and does not turn your camera off. Same with apple, my MacBook Pro 2019 reached so high temperatures while video editing, it was so loud and hot that eventually something broke.
