Fantastic cat photos...unless you're pointing the lens at a dear, in which case your cat photos won't look very cat-like.

I honestly think anyone who doesn't respect Fujifilm hasn't tried one yet. This is coming from a sony shooter. But those cameras are BEASTS! Don't let the sensor size fool you!

Fuji lenses are superb! I have tried the 16-55 f2.8 and the 16mm 1.4. Both lenses were tack sharp! I couldn't find any flaws in the image quality!

agree, wanted to buy Sony, but when I tested Fuji, that was amazing, for less price I got all I needed.

great review :-) is your criticism of the bokeh with or without the adaptor?

Sounds almost as good as the Leica 200 mm prime F2.8 on a Panasonic G9. I think the combination for that whole package though is under $3000 camera included.

But it's not even remotely comparable. That lens is equivalent to a 400mm f/5.6 on full frame. There's a reason it's so much less expensive.

That reminds me of how I felt when I got my Canon 300mm f2.8LIS years ago and my trip to Richmond park for the deer with the 1dmk3. That lens looks a lot lighter with that light mirrorless.

Hi Kai, great video as always. Lens is a bit out of my price bracket - and I don't have a Fuji to put it on so would be an expensive, pointless purchase! Anyway, was wondering if you could maybe review some cheap led light panels for video (1x1s or larger) with regards price to output value and colour accuracy. I'm particularly interested in the flexible panels as they would be lighter and easier to carry in my kit bag. My use case would be for run and gun interview setups. The brand's making these type panels are Aladdin, Westcott, Falconeyes, Travor and probably a fair few others. Also a current gen wireless lav mic comparison would also be handy - dual mic, single receiver systems are what I've been looking at.

Did anyone tried to run this lens through two teleconverters at a time? Let’s say: body then> x1.4 then> x2 then> lens? Is it even possible? It will still keep usable f-value (airshows are photographed at f/8 quite usually), but will the AF work?

I hired the canon 200 f/2 some time ago before it got smaller what a beast it were

why does Crocodile Dundee keep popping up in my head, "That's not a lens, This is a lens" LOL Looks Like Fuji is not messing around, I like their stuff, And I'm a Canon-Sony guy. Too funny as I'm typing this a Adorama email popped up in my email, I used to buy Fuji Color film from Adorama when I was taking color film photography in college, we made our own prints, that where I really learned the RGB -CYMK thing, sadly we were the last class to do that.

Do you use Lightroom for processing? The wormy bokeh could be related to the fact that Fuji raw files are notoriously difficult/different to process in Adobe products, especially for grass/branches.

syklonic Thanks for the link! I’ll read it. I don’t personally shoot Fuji so I have no first hand experience, but it seemed odd that Fuji’s trees would misbehave compared to those produced by another camera.

At a local camera event I tossed on the Fuji 100-400 was impressed how stupidly sharp it was. Had to imagine how the fixed 200 could be sharper! But the 200 does have better BOKEHHHH
