Fujifilm GFX50SII First Look | Specs & Sample Photos | Affordable Medium Format??

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Fujifilm GFX50SII is finally here. It features the same 51.4 megapixel sensor, a new body design, IBIS, and a new image processor for faster sensor readouts and improved autofocus. All that and Fujifilm is pricing it at $3999 for the body of $4499 for the GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 kit, which is an amazing deal for the specs.

    Hi Benj, this is by far the best KZread video review of the Fuji GFX 50sii to jump into medium format for the price. To me from jumping from full frame to 44X33 medium format and for what I do mostly fine art indoor portrait, studio using a canvas backdrop is perfect. For lens the GF 45-100mm f/4 zoom would be a nice start

    Benj - do you see any value in having a camera like this for personal / street / travel stuff, or does it mostly shine for client work (wedding, fashion, product, etc) that requires high resolution?

    I would love to know how the autofocus compares to Fuji’s newer crop sensor cameras like the X-E4. Also how big are the raw files? Would they increase the editing time for a wedding? Thanks for the video!

  • @benjhaisch

    @benjhaisch

    The hardest part for me would be getting equivalent lenses to compare. The raw files are mellow. 40-50mb. Editing with smart previews makes things fly no matter how large the files anyway :)

    Very nice! Just got an X1Dii and love love love the color. But man... that AF. Having both, do you feel like you get the color you want from both the Hassy and Fuji, being the same sensor, or do you feel like you have to really work one over the other to get to a good result. I do use Phocus for the Hasselblad. If so, having better AF and IS seems really tempting.

    I haven’t used Phocus so it’s hard to know. I like the ergonomics and feel of the Hasselblad better, but the colors have been fine for me so far with Fujifilm, no issues.

    @@benjhaisch well, it will be interesting to see what you think after some time. I just sold my 100s and 50r. Great image quality no doubt but the bulky ness of that system got to me after a while. And the zooms only being f4 or 5.6 minimum was annoying. Still a great system but like everything has things to navigate.

    When I was in the camera store back in the 70s while in college a woman photographer. Who work for one of the major newspapers in St. Louis Missouri came in Caring two Nikon F1 one on each shoulder. Not once did I hear her complain about the weight of her camera on that it was not fast enough for her to see sports with.

    Hi Benj, thank you for your review, much appreciated. I want to ask you if there is any reason why the older version of this camera is still much more expensive than the new version. GFX 50S is 1500$ more than the GFX 50SII on BH Photo. If I am not mistaken...
