I bought the TTArtisans 27mm f2.8 and find it a great lens, bats well above it's price, size and weight. So I'll be very interested in adding this useful focal length to my kit, especially at the price (just $119 at launch!). The emerging Chinese lens makers are really bringing some interesting, and cheap, lenses to market.

TTartisan and 7 artisans make SUCH AMAZING glass. I was blown away when I got a 60mm macro for MFT.. the second cheapest lens I own, but easily one of the sharpest.

The Fuji 35/1.4 is my daily driver and I got it used(barely) with the box and a hood for about 400 here in Amsterdam. Crazy seeing the prices in Aus.

My fav focal length is 40mm (27mm) and use the TT Artisan 27 on my X-M1, although it is auto focus I prefer manual and set up the distance indicator on the screen. Estimate the distance in metres and it is quite accurate, I don't mind soft so the odd slight miss in focus is fine with me. Fits right in my pocket while riding m/cycle to just stop, hit the button and move off to the next spot.

I have their older, manual focus version of this lens and I love it!! Might shell out for this one as well. I like manual focusing, but being able to not worry about focusing a lens is also good, especially when you're in those situations where you couldn't be bothered doing it and/or you have to move quickly to get a shot. I only wish they'd produce an autofocus version of their 50mm f/0.95 lens!! I have the manual version and a week or so ago I was out doing Xmas light shots near home. Nearly blinded myself using it!!! It was that bright, but I did have it wide open at the time!!

I haven't used any AF lens for my X-E1 yet. Been using the TTartisans 25mm f2 manual lens. Surprisingly works well for such a cheap lens. I agree the focus peaking on the X-E1 is pretty limited.

I’m surprised you haven’t tried the Fujifilm XC35 f2. Great lens for a very affordable price. Same optics as the XF 35 f2 but in a plastic housing. Obviously the depth of field isn’t quite as good as the f1.4, but I love it on my X-T20 as an EDC. Just my thoughts.

Sadly, they’re 27 mm doesn’t work with Z 30, and because I’m on Mac, there’s no way to update the firmware or fix the lens. Basically I bought a brick. I recommend people stay away from TT art.

I hold very little about Chinese lenses regadless how good those manufacturer have become. Firstly: What I don't like is that those companies copy the design language of other established manufactures. Lenses of TTartisan and 7Artisan produce lenses that looke like Leica. Even the font of the markings and colours match of the designations. Yes, you can call me a sinophobe in this regard. Secondly: I used to import lenses from China myself in 2018. To make a long story short: the QC was not there. I puchased lenses and focal length reducers. Screws that were overtightned, not secured with glue, or were sitting in damaged threads, fell into the light box of my camera and damaged the shutter curtain. Since I was the importer there was no warranty. The damage caused by that tiny little screws was costly. I could have bought a new camera. The manufacturer did not offer any compensation. So FY China.
