Are you ever going to test the R7 or can Camera Canada not get you a loaner? The RF 100-400 is at least more affordable than the 100-500 and it's getting decent reviews.

I can not agree with your take on vertical video more! It has set us back a hundred years of cinematic progress and spat on its history! As for the Fuji XH2s, It sometimes takes time to start liking a camera, the flaws are there in your face, then you begin to see the beauty and now the relationship begins! The flipping hat on was perfection! Keep up the great content, very interested to see the GoPro 11 review!

Don’t worry my friend, the idiots pushing this vertical video nonsense are just caught up in a passing fad - much like how 3D has tried and failed 3 times over the last 50 years. Your standard screen filling 16:9 (or better yet IMAX 1:431) aspect ratios will continue to dominate.

I have both the X-H2 and the X-H2S. The 240p on the X-H2 is definitely better. It’s less noisy and looks cleaner. The other surprising thing is that the stabilization on the X-H2 is better and different than on the S. It’s smoother and much less jerky. I don’t know why. But it’s very noticeable.

@@cjm8160 for video I have noticed zero difference. They both capture faces and eyes very well. They are the same there. For photo, I notice the S is faster and stickier on birds and wildlife. But only fractionally. I would say it’s 15% quicker. I find that in most cases I prefer the X-H2 because in 4K HQ video, you can digitally crop in by 2x with no loss of quality. It’s pretty amazing.

@@RockyColaFizz I am interested in your opinion. Keep in mind, I do not do video. For Birds and wildlife photos! Would you say its $500 fractionally faster. I have been looking for an actual review on capturing birds and wildlife with XH2. Mostly , reviews have been dedicated to the video side of the XH2s/XH2. I shoot Landscape and wildlife/birds. Also old buildings/barns and other things like that. If the XH2s is the best choice, I would choose it. But if the XH2 is better, I will wait to see what the X-T5 has to offer. BTW ! I am shooting an X-T3 ATM.

I just ordered the XH 2 because I'm mainly a photographer of stills but still enjoy the video capability of the XH 2. The new 18-20 Motorized Zoom is also on order because it will allow me wide use cases even though some of the primes may be better. I do like the "collaboration" that the lens designers purportedly had witht those in the Fuji Broadcast area. Also, I've long been an astronomy hobbyist and Fujinon Binoculars are second to none. Lots of good optical heritage there. Thanks p.s. the durable design and 500K shutter life is also impressive.

I got my XH2 yesterday and took it to the trail. The AF felt great, it wasn’t slow at all and since it has more AF pixels it felt super accurate for smaller details compared to my XH2S. The IQ is insane for photos. I didn’t test any video, but I’ll check it out. I wanna see if the 240p isn’t so noisy like on the H2S.

I'm glad to hear your thoughts on the XH2 because my order is in and it's always natural to second guess a major economic outlay.

The Fuji looks amazing.

I can't help but notice your mastery of talking to the camera so focused and relaxed and involved... involved i guess is the point. It is quite incredible. I wish to learn more about my delivery as I would like to do this as well for my own things. I am an opera singer and sound engineer and love writing songs. Hope this reaches to you. Do you give coachings or do you have a way to focus yourself to make a video? Techniques? Be well!

Have you tried using HLG with the Fuji? Output to 709 with the Leeming LUT. Brings a new life to the camera.

I got it a week ago. Moving up from panasonic g9, so hopefully AF will improve and 99% day time landscape photography. Only kit lens :( so need to get sharp one for it. Plus keeping g9 as still beautiful camera. Can not wait to take fujifilm to Dolomites or Alps :)

It is not like the opengate 6,2k has less pixels in vertical than the 16:9 8K from the x-h2, so you can do the same (9:16) in 8k with the X-H2 ;)

hello, I want to build a new set and I have been following your videos for a long time. That's why I need your opinion)) I usually take photos, but the photos I take are printed on 2x1 banners, albeit a little. But I also shoot video. I'm torn between sony a7iv and fujiiflm xh2. Do you think it would be enough for someone like Fuji Beniö? Or what would you recommend?

The stacked sensor is the very reason that the 240p on the xh2s is noisy. All stacked sensors have more noise than non stacked sensors.

I reckon you need to get your hands on the X-H2 so you can make your own comparisons...

The one eye view was still too wide. According to the new video trends, the vertical slit should be no wider than your pupil, and ideally one single pixel wide. That way, we won't overwhelm our audience with 'spurious visual information' and instead, they will have a joyous audio experience. Eventually, in an ideal world, we can do away even with the single pixel slot and our videos can scientifically advance to the nirvana known as 'audio'.

I am looking into buying a hybrid camera for travel, mini documentaries and occasional commercial work (low-budget, obviously). Currently, I am deciding between A7Siii, A7iv and XH2S and am completely confused because of your fluid thoughts on them. It would be very helpful if you could help me. I love your channel cause it's fun and personable, but I'm confused more and more each time I watch your Fuji/Sony dillema content (I know you do wildlife, but you're fun to watch). It's obvious that Sony makes more "professional" cameras, but Fujifilm really does put magic in those crippled little bodies. Anyway, thank you for your content and the confusion you bring.

Well the top hybrid cameras these days are either Sony A7c, A7IV or Panny S5, just depends if you really dependant on AF, if not then S5, if yes then Sony. Fuji are, okay for hybrid work, at the end of the day any modern camera will get the job done, its really just down to the end user.

Same bad image on XT3 on 120fps, Its because of the noise reduction in camera. Noise reduction in fujifilm is bad. Turn it down to -4, and the image will not be destroyed.

The narrow face slot is a perfect idea for zoom talks. Nobody really wants to show their stupid place anyway. "Oh, look, he's got PLANTS."

All these 4k cameras, 4k TVs, 8k even becoming more popular, then KZread considers putting everything above 2k behind a paywall...thanks Google:/ Wonder if this makes Vimeo pop off for more serious content again. Regarding this specific content I can't decide which of these I like or if i'll like the XT5 more, but Fuji def catching my eye for the first time ever with these last few releases.

The xt3 is the real winner even as a xt4 owner the difference is so small. If someone out there wants good video on a budget that thing is a beast. Put some tape over the name and you can make youtube 'movies' with all the hip kids.

There's probably not much difference between 6.2k oversampled 4k and 8k oversampled 4k... just like how oversampled 1080p can only get so sharp.

I went to Fujikina 2022 . brought my Xh1 to talk about their dumb proprietary sound codec that does not play back in basic apps and the sound does not playback on camera . they said , yeah that was a common hardware problem. Sorry...😂😠 still a great camera. Unfortunately I have to trust the levels like old school. Also showed them my Iso dial on my xpro 2 that seems to have a possible melted spot keep it stuck at iso 800. . their reply to that was sorry 😠😂

Very little difference between the Canon and Fuji cameras. Trust me, I watched it on my phone, 720p, in portrait mode. Please get the GH6 already, only then I'll turn my phone to landscape mode

We all know the pro move move is to give up the X-H2S for a FX30 to complement the A7S3. Except Casey Ryback only a pro in the kitchen.

No point getting annoyed with the Canon R, leave it in C-log and never change it. Looks amazing in that mode, and is way better than Fuji F-log

For a first camera, there is a lot to dive in to make the best out of it.

The GH6 is amazing..I was comparing the RX100 with the P50pro...the RX100 is almost museum age..BUT zoom to 200mm then CIZoom to 300mm result excellent the man fixing a lightning rod on a 30 floor bank roof...I took several images all very good...the P 50 pro was ok once the stabe. calmed down but 20 images only two were as good as the RX...Today the old obsaleat RX100 is still better than a phone... Panasonic has made a RX100 mk8 with 24/350mm zoom 8k 4k60 HD 240 480...$648 ..I read

@@jakerunsabroad the 7 with the 200mm is still really good with the veiw finder long zoom it's faster & better image than phones... yesterday a film school was out...& a girl showed me how to frame short clips...we watched the results on a monitor the school is using GH6 and that camera is amazing...they use ZV1 for B roll..the conclusion the RX100 6 or 7 needs tweeks then its still a fast from pocket to filming or photo ready camera..a phone can .my P5 pro or S21...she had ..are slow & super clunky beside an RX 100....or zv1...for me I can't use the excellent zv1 outside..she convinced me I should use a compact GH6....but unfortunately it won't fit in my back pocket....

i love how you're debating on which fuji is better when that canon has the most pleasing looks. And dont even get me started with this "hard to edit files" crap. my cheapest 2019 macbook pro has 8gb of ram and uses external usb ssd as a working horse drive and guess what! not a stutter in fcpx and original media, not proxied. 4k60 clog3 for an example, however im back to using 8bit fhd now because i see very little point using 4k. Yeah 240 fps would be nice, but don't act as if 120 is any terrible in 1/240s in a perfect low iso camera. PS I use an R6 so ymmv

PS2. Get that GH6 finally. You're talking of it a lot so why didnt you give it a go yet? we all know gh5 was good quality so it's not like jumping into unknown waters. The only downside i see is no AF (you cant call it AF, it's not a canon or a sony, you know that). When I edit gh5 files its half the stress on that cheap laptop that canon does so it should be an option for you. Or upgrade your pc finally to something from 2019.

Of course he has updated the firmware. Knowing as disappointed he is in the X-H2S Kasey would be looking for anything that might improve the situation. And, if it fixed anything, Kasey would have telling all of us. If you look at the firmware 2.0 document it does not say much in what it fixed--seems more like a photograph oriented firmware update. New firmware might improve the focus and IBIS. What it will not fix is the noise at 240P as it is function of the stacked sensor. That said, and I know this goes against general thinking on how to shoot video, but I wonder if some in-camera sharpening and noise reduction might improve the soft/noisy 240P out of this camera.

Of all the full frame Canon mirrorless cameras you could use for video, the R is the worse. If you're disappointed with it, that's on you. OTOH you didn't pay for it. Peter McKinnon uses the R5(?) I believe - and the corners are just terrible... Goes to show it's not about the camera but the personality in front of it. Canon colours are definitely very nice though, think I prefer BlackMagic if used correctly by the user.

I am jot surprised you made this video, I was excited for you when I saw you had bought the XH2s given the development of your wild life video capture I have been following, I really thought the XH2s would be the Sony killer. Then the XH2 came out and the Photgrapher in me had to do a double take. 40mp on a crop C would be fantastic for macro Video and Macro Photography, well most Photography really, and cheaper than the XH2s???? I realize they are still verry different cameras similar to the difference between the S and R designations with Sony's A7 series then there is the Hobo loser A7 series with no S and no R. The Jackasses of all trades and Masters of none. I really shouldn't speak though, I'm still shooting a Canon DSLR. It's not even Mirorless. I would get better video with a GoPro, or even that Picasso action cam, probably. 😞

If Fuji wanted something innovative, they would make a 4K by 4k 16mp bayer camera that uses the full image circle of the aps lenses for horizontal and vertical shooting, and place it rotated by 90 degrees. This would show no rolling shutter in typical horizontal motion, or vertical motion and vehicle vibration with the camera rotated by 90. It would be faster in frame rate, have far better dynamic range and low light performance, use less energy, have better autofocus, use less data for storage, be compatible with vertical video, be more efficient in editing etc. The extra area of the full image circle mode could be used for better framing and predicting motion entering the frame, and the square mode with the full imqge circle could also be a capture mode. They cannot create this large expensive sensor and do not want to change their marketing based engineering. and hipster ifluencers.

Why does this video look so bad? Yeah, the yellow cast could do with fixing and some black levels sorting out and some sharpening applied, but they look either out of focus or some cheap creappy kit lens was used, or YT compressed the shit out of it.
