Fuji PrinCiao Smart 2 review (and why not Canon SELPHY CP1300)

Like any other photographer, I like to print out some of my photos now and then😉 And, of course, the best way of doing it is at home using your own printer🤩 It ensures privacy, is cost effective and convenient😎 And since I don't need prints larger than 6" and all of them are intended for long term keeping in a family album, my choice is Fujifilm Princiao Smart 2🙌 Never heard of it?😲 Then let's dive in, I'll tell you all you need to know about it, why I chose it over Canon SELPHY CP1300, show how it prints and what results can you get👌

    Iv owned the canon selphy cp1300 for some time now and it's great . Though I wish we had the fujifilm option here in New zealand . I love the fact you can store the photos and carrier in the unit . This would certainly keep dust from coming in and sitting on the photo paper when being stored . I do blow off any dust prior to using the canon now though but it was an issue when I first got it . Great video to ! thanks

    Nice review, I was waiting for it since your post. Minimalistic and clean lighting on the printer, I like it! It's such a nice product, maybe they're just testing the market before selling elsewhere. Did you try to print a deep and contrasted b&w like your 60 sign on the bridge, the tall building, the town view? That's when you see the most obvious difference between cheap and high end printers.

    Thank you for the video, I had no idea this exists, here in Europe I only found Canon "Selphy". Now after learning about it I think it must be market partitioning and the actual printing technology inside is very likely identical, the price of print compared to Instax sounds also about the same. What I guess from that is that there is slim chance of SE Asia getting Canon or us getting Fujifilm... I find Fujifilm's industrial design more pleasing from your video but does is really have a replaceable battery as you suggest in the video? If not, that at least might be an advantage of Canon. I think both companies should force their PR departments to be less creative as both of these names are quite bad. I am curious however: - Did you try black & white photos? Is the quality any good? - Does Fujifilm offer paper with different formats as well? Canon sells square stickers 54×54 mm, credit card sized ones and ID photo sized grids (8 per paper IIRC)

  • @SergioMusel

    @SergioMusel

    2 жыл бұрын

    Talking about about battery, it's not removable, but I've already said why I think it's better than Canon: included in price and doesn't add bulk. I don't think you need to worry about it not being removable, more and more devices today have a non-removable batteries. I haven't tried black and white yet, but should be no problem. I don't think smaller format papers matter, you can just cut whatever you need, Fuji prints out the guides and grids when printing ID or other smaller sizes. Smaller paper means waste of ribbon, better use the whole size paper, it's more efficient, if you ask me. After all, it isn't supposed to be a dedicated professional printer for ID or cards or stickers.

  • @ZafranRarang
    @ZafranRarang Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the well-informed video! Seeing as the printer's photo paper comes with tear-off strips to cut off any excess blank space from a 4x6 photo, is it still possible to use regular non-Fujifilm 4R photo paper with this printer?

  • @SergioMusel

    @SergioMusel

    Жыл бұрын

    Doubt it, I believe the sublimation process requires a special type of paper, plus the paper length also plays its role. I do wonder whether the paper for similar printers from other brands will fit🤔
