We went to Japan after being away for about six months and stayed at the "Bettei (Annex) Konoma no Tsuki" at the luxury ryokan "Fufu Atami" in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This ryokan is owned by the same Kato Pleasure Group as the ATAMI Kaihourou ryokan where we stayed the day before. Fufu Atami was the first ryokan in the Fufu group to open with an open-air bath in every room, and in April 2021, it opened "Bettei Konoma no Tsuki" as a small luxury resort with only six rooms. Each of the six rooms at "Bettei Konoma no Tsuki" is named after a different moon, and each room has different lighting and decorations reminiscent of a moonlit night, providing guests with a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The room we stayed in this time was a very spacious and beautiful Premium Corner Suite, with lighting inspired by the hazy, faint moon that induces sleepiness. Dinner at Sushi Kappou “Umi no Yuha” was a delightful experience, with sushi and seasonal dishes that made the most of Atami's fresh fish, and sakes that matched the dishes. We had a great time conversing with the Sous-Chef. The service by the staff was also excellent, and even though it was our first time visiting the ryokan, we were treated like loyal guests in a courteous yet friendly manner.
