I am satisfied with being mediocre at strategy games. Makes watching pro players even more fun imo.

i used to be pretty good at this back in the day. i was quite high up in the ranking on tiberium wars but the strategies were so different back then i wouldnt be able to keep up now lol

I played RTSs alot as a kid, never good or anything; I play almost anything, genre be damned. I just am not good at RTSs; do like TBS, TBT and other Strategic-RPGs, even on higher difficulties. _Can at least enjoy the spectacle and skill shown._

In the last game I was literally shouting at the screen like "Don't sell that MCV, Dimon! You have done it twice and both ended up with loss!". So much satisfaction finding out he didn't. :) Love these dimon games. They are never goddamn stale.

That grand final was truly a match of the people's champion and the underdog. As much as I love Dimon myself, I can't help to be curious on how Dutch would take on the man himself. And when Sybert mentioned how Dutch had been training with Dimon for the past few months, it really shows how much he has grown purely on how close the score was in the end

Major respect for both players, I'm only just able to beat Medium AIs so this is inspiring to watch. Cheers for continuing to supply us with Red Alert 3 content Sybert. :)

snow plow vs andrey was so desperate. though dimon fought heroically like a lion and temple prime was literally uncontested. so satisfying :)))) was a bit sad seeing the following games, cause have checked them already at dimon’s channel. but you’ve done a good job making these masterpieces available for the greater auditory, sybert

At this point Dimon is the Lewis Hamilton of RA3.

That game vs Dutch on Fire Island was, perhaps, my favourite. I really liked how Dutch came out for what looked like a simple naval yard deny, but it just kept going, and going, and going, and just took the game, totally didn't expect that! As an empire main myself, i hate the modern allied playstyle with a passion, but man, this play was beautiful

Most of these games were so quick. These Vindicator strategies are really all-or-nothing gambits. They either win you the game right away or you lose. Still, these series was very interesting to watch. Lots of interesting tactics from Dimon to counter.

Doesn't anyone think it's strange how Soviet "anti-air" cannot win versus an equal cost of vindicators? How cryocopters can just approach bullfrogs without extra support, outrange them with shrink ray, and freeze them while escaping alive? How can there be a hard counter vs air opener? I remember planes in c&c generals being made of paper...

Well a bullfrog is cheaper than a Vindicator, but two bullfrogs is more expensive than one Vindicator. 2 Vindicators and 3 Bullfogs cost the same and depending on the engagement angles and how everything is controlled either side could win that. However, we only ever see Allied air units with the air upgrade, an un-upgraded Vindicator is far less cost efficient.

I think one way of balancing it would have been making the air upgrade a t3 power to delay that buff Or give the soviets a t3 vehicle buff likr reinforced armour instead of healing treads Edit: Quick research shows that the allies have 5 one off support powers in their first three tiers, Rising Sun have four, Soviet have three (Two of which are at T3). Plus they have no unit bonus like superior air or navy.

In the RA3 wiki, it's 4 bullfrogs for 3 vindicators. That's a small difference... But pushing the advanced aeronautics to T3 is overkill, airfield opener needs to remain viable. If I had to balance it, I would: buff flak cannon dps and armor vs air (for a stationary AA-only structure, it seems really underwhelming), nerf cryocopter shrink ray range, increase allied turret build time, have an indicator on cryoblast and cryogeddon before the support power starts. And maybe make the bullfrogs a little cheaper and maybe equalize the cost of ore collectors... Then again, I'm interested what an RA3 pro would think of all this.

@@Rbum4 Aye, T3 would be too much Tbh, just T2. If the Soviets also had T2 Tank bonus (Replace the corrosive leak) that buffed bullfrog (Among others) armour then that could be enough. I think bullfrog's being able to crush infantry is another option. Flak cannons a good point, I think better armour would be important. Something I've noticed recently since I've started playing RA3 again is just how deadly the base allied turret is against infantry. Which given it has the option to be made anti infantry with a peacekeeper seems cruel. If it was ineffective against infantry turret pushes would be easily countered, require more micro to remain effective and it would give the Spectrum Tower a possible utility.

Hey Sy. i was wondering about tournaments. How does one go about trying to get a tournament set up? I have a pretty cool idea for one that I think will be really entertaining. I'd be willing to put up money for it too and everything. Im not sure on when exactly Id like to do it, but if I could get the gist of how to do it first would be a big help. It'd be for a kanes wrath one though lol. And now that i got my main question out of the way, back to watching some red alert 3 :)

I hesitated clicking this video because the thumbnail almost didn’t look like red alert 3.

I remember when DutchArmy left Dimon and the other to play with his friend (I dont remember his name) and they're like "you put us into this but you leave us." So Dutch was saying something like. "It's what it called for being friends and you don't have that." 😂 😂 Man, I just can't stop thinking about it.

If you freeze the building but not fully freeze it. It will be slow for example tesla fires after 2/3 sec and with the almost complete freeze is is like 6/7 sec

I wonder if Dimon has ever thought about doing allies and turret pushing the turret pushers. I saw a 2v2 tournament with him and it's nearly impossible to beat two good allied turret pushers.

So I've watched the video again, I don't think Dimon was necessarily on the ropes. It's been a pattern that whenever he gets base/tower pushed by an Allied player, he always falls back on delaying the allies on that base while at the same time re-establishing a new base (multiple bases actually) elsewhere. Once or twice is one thing, but he seems to this a lot of the times, that or he would hunker down and build a lot of static defenses in certain maps, like infinity isle. Where Allies construction sequence makes it possible to do a turret push and Empire allows them to set up a base anywhere without the mcv leaving the main base. Soviets, I've noticed, shines on this scrappy games where the mcv just goes around the map and constantly build structures. The soviet mcv will just drop structures and while the structures are under construction, it'll just pack up and re-deploy elsewhere, then rinse and repeat. Yes, the other factions can do this as well, but it looks like soviets are faster at this. I'm not sure if this is due to Dimon's skills or if it's inherent in the soviet faction, but I've noticed in these games that Soviet units are very good in these low eco/scrappy match ups.

By design they seem pretty well geared to scrappy matches. You're encouraged to garrison infantry since it will cost the other two factions more to get them out with infantry, and you can kill more expensive infantry in garrisons or otherwise drown the opponent in conscripts. Hammer tanks can potentially steal a really powerful weapon if the enemy brings in powerful units. I could go about units all day but being able to put a construction up and have it as a roadblock while building and force the opponent to try to destroy it is just completely nuts.

In the right hands Allies are very difficult to beat. Dimon has been the best at it for probably 4 years and overall is the most skilled player in RA3 right now. At lower levels it feels much more imbalanced in favor of Allies. It feels like it's much easier to win with Allies than other factions (and maybe it is).

submarines are cheat code in island maps soviets have more advantages than allies except snowball 1 sub --- total sea dominance !

I can sort of agree on this to an extent. After watching a lot of ra3 games. Soviets surprisingly have the advantage on water in most cases. But on land, especially if both allied and soviets are on level 3, Allies are much stronger in most cases. To exapnd a bit on this, that's just looking at one aspect of it. Look at Allies vs other match-ups. They're the only ones that can succesfully turret push and they're the ones that usually have an advantage in tier 3 ground because cryocopters practically shuts down a lot of tier 3 units, apoc gets completely shutdown by cryocopters shrink ray and v4's are mitigated by athena cannon aehis shield against soviets, same can be said against empires of they don't establish their anti air properly. Heck you talk about sea dominance, what about dominance in air and mobility? I've seen lesser allied and soviet players completely crumble from constant tengu harass. The way I see it, each factions have their clear advantage over the others, but each of them make up for it in other places.

End of the year for some of us? Ahh which countries don't follow the calendar?

Not to be mean, but I'm pretty sure if Andrey didn't rely on turret-pushing, he'd be winning far less often against not just Dimon, but all other players.

I've seen Andrey play regular games and when he wants he's quite fearsome with non-push or cryo tactics. I think you're right, he would win less games.

dimon is giving up so quickly in general

Brilliant play by Dutch Army. To be able to defeat Dimon several times using an inferior underpowered fraction is pretty amazing. It is a torture to watch any Allied player going against good Soviets or Empire players 1v1 when you just know they're going to loose. I can't believe after all these years people still deny that Allies are underpowered. One of the key reasons is expansion. Allied player can never expand on equal terms as Empire or Soviets.

Now I don't know what games you're watching. But I see far more Allies winning compared to Soviets. Dimon, followed by DDF are probably the only people that are consistently plating Soviets ag a high level and get consistent results. You probably watched a bunch of Dimon games and you used that as your benchmark.
