    today I was minding two kids ages 7 and one aged 9. they mentioned my haircut and they invited friends over and one of the boys I mind asked "do you think they're a boy or girl" and he said "ugh... g- no b...boy?" and I was so happy ans they corrected him. then another kid came over and he said I could pass as a boy and asked me if I'm sure I'm a girl and I said yeah when I'm really not sure but I felt so on awe at these children who at first glance thought i was a boy. bless the generation

  • @Amoebatirith

    @Amoebatirith

    I thought about doing Lucifer because I liked the name (it actually means "light bringer" because it's associated with the morning star, Venus). Also wanted to spite the Christian family that isn't accepting, but it would just make things worse for me so I'm not. Did think about putting it as a second name just for fun, but since I took a "nick" name after moving I want to set that as my middle name instead to make it easier for name transition.

    Name changing is honestly one of the things that I'm most scared about. I like my birth name; I feel it fits me and my personality really well... but it's a girl's name. If it were possible to pass as male without changing my name, I would probably keep it. At the same time though, There are several new names that I have been trying out in my head, and I feel that they suit me too. I'm probably thinking too far ahead though, as I'm not even out yet.

    Jellyton how is being what i feel I am an insult to someone else!!! My age is irrelevant, I am old enough to label myself. By calling myself non binary i am not denying the binary system or trans people. I am simply saying I don't feel I fit into one gender or the stereotypes surrounding that gender. Gender fluidity and non binary people have been around for ages, it's just the terms that have recently become more used

  • @DillyHughesxXx

    Jellyton you have your beliefs and I have mine. Since when was scientific evidence needed to validate someone's state of being. Some people feel binary and others don't. I don't know why that it, it just is. I don't call myself gender fluid because I dress masculine and feminine. It's a mental state for me too and I also have dysphoria. It tried to 'pick a side' but I couldn't. I don't want to be a man but on the inside looking out woman doesn't feel right either. Why should I pick a side and be miserable just to make others happy and not offend them. Thats like telling a trans person just to be the gender they were assigned at birth and stop trying to be something else, there's no such thing as trans, it's all in your head or a phase. Sadly these opinions are real too. Being trans you should understand what it's like

    This Christmas I finally got out to my complete family (and the family of my girlfriend) in the way that I do not wish to be called by my given first name anymore. My girlfriend supported me a lot, too. Everyone's reaction was from neutral to positive - this was one of the best Christmas gifts :) I now go by my nickname or second name, which are gender neutral or easily neutralized/genderswapped and since I'm still in the progress of finding out where to go, this is perfect. Like a blank sheet of paper, ready to be filled with whatever is me. Merry Christmas everyone.

    I'm in Australia and changed my name when I was 15. I obviously needed a document for a minor, and signatures of both of my parents. We got the document online but had to actually go to the RTA (car licence and ID place). We also had to hand in every copy of my previous birth certificate. The cost for the change, filing, new birth certificate and change of name form was over $240 AUD.

    Hey! Great Video! However, Deed poll isn't quite how it happens in Scotland, especially if you're born in Scotland. There's two ways: (1) with the Registrar General; (2) a Statutory Declaration. Bellow includes quotes from the Citizens Advice Scotland page about how to change your name in Scotland: -[1]- "If you were born or adopted in Scotland, you can record a change of name with the Registrar General." - This gives you an Amended Birth Certificate showing your Birth Name has changed to a Different Forename. You fill out a simple form which has details on your birth certificate (name, mother's maiden name, father's name, place of birth (again, this is only if you were born in Scotland)) and new name and pay & send it off. Pow. There you go. They do contact you if there's any errors in the form. -[2]- By a Statutory Declaration. This is, I believe, similar to a deed poll.. but Scottish. "You can also officially change your name in Scotland using a statutory declaration. If you are allowed to change your name using the process of recording a change of name with the Registrar General it is easier to use that process. A statutory declaration can be drawn up and witnessed by a notary public or justice of the peace." (solicitors).

    I believe in numerology and how important each letter can be is, kinda similar to zodiacs in a way. I found a name with similar spelling and the first and last letters are the same. I researched more into numerology and fell in love with this idea I had, I was taking away two letters from my birth name that reflected a lot on negative issues on my old self and replaced it with the letter d which can mean something similar to transitioning into your better self or just positive change in general I also took into account that my family (moms side) do not have any Irish in them at all, yet she kept an Irish themed names with all of her children, we all have Irish names, and the name spelling I chose is close to my birth name and it's an Irish name! Plus when I came out to my friend 3 years ago, she for some reason stuck to calling me Caid, so I've practically been called Caid since, and the name I chose can be simplified or shortened to Caid, so it's perfect! I went from Caitlin to Caidin(Caid)

    um in the uk you can use a statutory declaration of name change as a trans person, its a lot cheaper and its a document that the government actually recognise more as well. it can be as cheap as £1 and then you have the fees from the solicitors, but it can be way cheaper than deed poll. just saying.

    I live in the USA, I'm "in process"... it took me about 3 years to figure out what I TRULY wanted. just for the whole world to know, my full first name was "Christina", all I did was drop off "Tina" and my middle name started with an "L", so I picked my pet's name, and my last name I wanted something cool and personal, I picked Moon 🌈🌜I also got my name change for free since I'm low income. Here in the states, you go to your city court administrator, fill out all necessary paperwork, (Minnesota doesn't have rules yet) I went to court with two witnesses (boyfriend and friend) and am waiting for my new birth certificate and ss card in the mail, THEN I get official papers, take them to license place, bank, bills & anyone else you do business with. Finally, don't forget to change your online account names, or make new ones like I did! I've gotten IMPORTANT emails at my old address, so had to remember to change those too. I also included everyone I trusted to help me pick my name, they had so much fun! :-) Good luck to all who change their names anywhere on the planet! 👍👌👏

    you're so lucky you can change it for free!! in Canada, it costs $135 just to send in the application. you have to buy additional "long versions" of your documents to attach to the application, plus having to renew every piece of identification you have. which would cost around $200 or more

Tbh idk where if ound half the name options I liked. Also look for patterns in what u like, 1st letters, sounds, what color it reminds you of (idk that's what I did), meanings, length. My personal experience is I like uncommon J names & semi-common B & M names. Alot of the names I like reminds me of purple or red. Specificly my favorite names over time have been Jester, Bennett, Michael, stanford, Juno, Jupiter all over the place lol.

    *BY THE WAY* For a deed poll in the UK you have to get parental permission (someone to do it on behalf of you) up until age 16 and then when you turn 16 you can get one by yourself. Because someone still had legal parental responsibility over me somehow after not seeing them for years and such, i had to arrange a meet up to get a handwritten letter to send off to the passport people as id booked a holiday when i was 15 under the new name and stuff thinking that when i had the deed-poll it was over, so that really sucked. But yeah now i'm changing my name again and this time i can put Mr in the front of it as well. Hope this helps, i had no idea i could do it alone at 16 so yeah

    I found that making eye contact with myself in a mirror then reading the names off one by one helped me. I wanted a name that wasn’t overly common, but not too exotic either. I read off my pretty short list of about 10 names, and landed on Fin or Fyn. I know that it is highly unlikely to pick a name within a hour, but this means I can make other lists if I find any other names that may work. I just have through it through a few times.

When Luke hit me it just felt right, and I might actually use Elliott as a surname as Luke doesn't go with my current one and i've been looking for an excuse to change my surname longer than i've known i'm trans. But thank you for saying about feeling weird with names/pronouns being normal, i feel in limbo as i'm not really Jess anymore but i'm not Luke yet either but i don't feel like a 'they'/enby either. When I first started experimenting, I chose the closest name I could to my birth name (Elis from Elizabeth). I don’t mind it, and I feel like it helps people adjust to it quicker. I feel bad picking a name that’s completely separate from my birth name, since it’s what my mum picked, but idk if I’ll be comfortable having a name so close to my birth name once I start transitioning. When I thought about my name, the middle name ‘george’ came to mind, and it’s kinda stuck. It feels weird thinking about changing it now
