Yes,Duke left the court early in 2006 after FSU started storming the court before the game had ended (FSU got hit with a technical foul for the premature storming). The major difference was that Coach K stayed on the court with his final five players instead of tucking tail and running off leaving his players. I agree that it is sometimes best to remove a team before the floor is stormed and I support FSU's jubilation. I do think Roy showed his classlessness by deserting his benchwarmers.

Roy had a lot of class over his career, but this moment could've been handled better. Even if Roy didn't think it was safe for himself to stay, he could've left an assistant that wouldn't have been targeted.

Im a UNC fan all the way but being unranked i think that FSU has some talent. Coming to that conclusion i hope they get better so when UNC and FSU vs then we might have a good ball game. Good job FSU

coach k did the same thing when we beat duke in 2006 when we got to swarm the court twice in one game that was awesome GO NOLES!!

I would have sprinted for the locker room within those final seconds if I was one of those last remaining UNC players on the court.

Roy's a butthurt bitch. That was the only reason he was complaining, because he never complained back in 2005 when UNC rushed the court after that big win over Duke.

I guess you never went to college then. A win like that is about the team, students, and school. As a student, getting to run down and celebrate a big win with the team is a feeling like nothing else. Also no athlete has ever gotten injured over that.

There have been several instances with fans on the court/field that have led to unnecessary athlete/fan interactions. It's just dangerous
