I have had mine for several months now. I have almost completely stopped using VR since I got it. 90% of the effect of VR without the uncomfortable, hot VR goggles. I like it better than TrackIR because I don't have to wear reflectors on a hat or headphones. It has been 100% reliable since I got it. I find it most helpful when lining up for a landing, especially turning base to final.

I have this from 10 years ago with fs2004 with the trackIR5 and the track clip pro. It works perfectly with fs2020 exactly like the tobi. You shown in the video. It is very precise with the IR as well and allow all movement. Only cons is there are some cables and the clip attach is fragile. My wife broke my first one. I bought another one. I would have prefer a more solid attachment. You have to carefully handle it to install it on a headset. But except that after you are like in vr experience with precise 6 DOF and with the headset you feel in the plane. There is also a less expensive track clip which works as well and not fragile as there are no active light anymore. It works but it is not as good as the track clip pro. Very good product and it can replace a vr headset and give the advantage that fs2020 has only one screen to render and it is easier to get ultra settings and far less expensive. I have a vr headset but still use my trackir5 in fs2020 with high/ultra settings at nearly 60 fps when i do only 23 fps in VR at 2880 x 1600 and only at medium settings with ultra textures. So the difference in rendering difficulty is huge between normal pc and vr. So the trackir5/to i are good solutions.

One thing worth mentioning with the Tobii Eye Tracker; it might seem expensive but compared to the cost of a decent VR headset and the price to be added for the right PC specs to run VR well, it's a bargain! I've been using mine for about a month now (I bought it when they had a 25% saving) and it's been a godsend. In addition, being able to see my flight panel switches and controls (which you can't do with VR) is a bonus. My situational awareness - especially when landing - is so dramatically improved I never fly without it. Well worth the money!!

@@user-ez8gv Xbox is PC, it even runs Microsoft windows OS. It basically crushes any PC at the time it debuts & still crushes PCs for a few years. Sure a PC might match it's specs but you'll have to spend 3 or 4 times the money just to match the Xbox gameplay. Xbox is a closed system so can't upgrade GPU, Ram Memory etc So after 3-4 years PC hardware prices come down a bit and you then can match or even surpass Xbox that is stuck with 3-4 year older hardware etc. If they made a Xbox where one can not just upgrade storage but ram memory it would still hold it's own. Ability to upgrade GPU & they'd be no rival. Xbox would crush it.

I bought the tobii eye tracker 5 before having to use TrackIR 5. Tobii is a great product but depends how you have your simulator setup. I use a 55" TCL tv as my primary display and sit my butt in my recliner approximately 5' away. Then between me and the tv is the Turtle beach stand with honey comb alpha yoke and bravo throttle quadrant mounted. on top of the bravo I have my logitech multi-panel and 15" touch screen running air manager panels. On top of the alpha I have my 10" tablet running my six pack air manager panels. Then to my left I have a snack tray which I mounted the logitech comm panel, my keyboard and 22" monitor displaying little nav map. So this makes using tobii difficult if not impossible to use, being it has to be mounted on the bottom of your display. So I had to get TrackIR which mounts on the top of my display. So yes they are both good products, but look at your setup and see which will work best.

Great review - How does Tobii work in DCS, what about hitting the buttons with the mouse? I have the Delanclip and I found it super annoying that it has to sit on my headset and the rendering on the screen is very choppy, I have a hard time hitting the buttons. I have now switched to a free version where you only use your webcam, it works just as badly as Delanclip, but I got rid of wearing my headset (AiTrack together with Opentrack) which I would recommend to everyone, no one difference compared to Delanclip, which costs money.

The room doesn’t have to be lit … the unit is sending out its own invisible light to illuminate you. It also works even if there’s sunlight behind you, and if you are wearing glasses. In most supported games, the amount you need to turn your head can be adjusted to your liking. There are limitations on the monitor size and your distance from the tracker, but I’ve seen multiple people using Tobii successfully when they are a bit outside of those recommendations. I love mine, especially now that I also bought FaceTrackNoIR which has a Tobii input plugin, allowing me to use it in a wider variety of games.

I wonder why my comment was removed from this video. Was it for I being honest in my opinion? Again, I like this video and I’d love to have one of these, but I wouldn’t forgive myself for paying $299 for it. It’s too steep.

Yes. Here's a quote from Tobii's webpage 'Tobii Eye Tracker 5L can be mounted on any screen or monitor, including built-in displays on laptops as well as curved monitors.' It also works fine on my own gaming laptop.

Just wasted a whole load of money on it, may be ok for flight sims but not for FS22 which I use alot. I watched FarmSim Guy,s review on it and what an unreliable, dishonest streamer he is, he said it was brilliant, huh. NO WAY.

Yes, the FS22 internal implementation for the Tobii is really bad … that’s one of the only games where I’ve had problems with it, though. The TrackIR implementation in FS22 is better from what I’ve seen, and if you are willing to spend a couple of extra bucks on the FaceTrackNoIR software to act as a front end for the Tobii and then have it output TrackIR info to FS22, that could potentially work a whole lot better, I suspect. At least that’s what I intend to test one of these days when I get back to some virtual farming.

@@TheFalconJetDriver from Tobbi Oscar (Tobii Eye Tracking) Jun 12, 2023, 02:53 GMT+2 Hi, Thanks for contacting us. Our recommending screen size is 15" to 27" [16:9] or 30" [21:9]*. If you would like to use it on the monitor larger than this, the eye tracking part will be unstable, especially at edges and corners. However, the head tracking part will not be affected. And it works fine in our office computer.
