Thank you 🙏 It was driving me nuts going only in written spec , I enjoyed your style have now subscribed,liked and now on to the flight comparisons you made 😊❤ I also only realised after watching your excellent informative clip that both models have a screen however only the HD would be capable of showing your flight 😳 glad you warned me ,what a silly thing to do ( not include that feature on both ,again thank you fir the Save !!😅❤❤I already fell foul of not researching properly when I bought my taranis e-X9E ,spares like main board are like rocking horse poop or hens teeth . I had to buy another broken one to cannibalise whilst preying the main board still worked .❤ thanks again . The link in comments only goes to stores ?

Nice review! I just discovered that this radio exists and it looks like it would suit my needs quite well, however I can't find any specs about the screen except for its resolution. Do you know the size, technology used ( lcd/oled/..) and brightness? Is it usable in daylight without a hood? Thanks

@@DutchRC Thanks, after watching your fly test video, it looked like the standalone HDzero VRX has way better reception than the one integrated in this radio, although it may be related to the antennas and firmware. But the fact that it has only 2 antenna inputs makes me think that it will never be as good as the HDzero VRX or goggles

@@jean-micheldupont1150 You're right! the reception wasn't as good as on the bigger monitor.. The will be partly because the monitor was a bit higher up, but for sure also because of the 2 extra antenna.. BUT.. for FPV with airplanes (that generally fly a lot higher up) the radio + inbuild HDzero setup should be enough.. So it will depend on what you'd want to do with it...

I just received a X20 HD. Does this thing only work with HDZero Camera? I don't have HDZero Camera yet. I'm not getting any Video on the Walkera i look plus Camera.

Thank you very much Daniel :) Well yeah.. there is the potential of not needing a receiver on the goggle right? :) It is also a bit of an accident waiting to happen though? :$ Imagine hand-launching with a wire going from radio to goggle.. Not sure BUT I'll try it somehow :)

@@DutchRC I guess it depends on how you launch. I one hand side launch and have not had an issue with my open hd setup that is attached to my radio and I plug into my goggles. I think it would be a descent portion of users that would want to plug in goggles rather than using the screen only.

I suggested to frsky years ago to include fpv screen in their controls , good to see they are doing it and with HD too! Thoigh kind of fell out of love with them with change in protocol thing and they never thanked me for any of the work I did for them back when taranis x9d was new, I did it for fun and did not expect payment but not even a thank you was off.

well in that case: Thanks for stopping by! :) And yeah.. things can work out that way.. not only with frsky I can tell you ;) But they have for sure rubbed "a few" people the wrong way.. I used the Horus X10 at the time, and have been away for years... Sidenote: that original TBS Tango (the one with the FPV screen) didn't seem overly popular.. I can imagine that is holding other companies back from that setup....

Yeah soooooooo I currently have firmware issues with this radio.. This is because I have a radio from the first batch (what you would buy Now is different).. So as it is now I can't use the HD part of my radio :@ Hopefully Frsky sorts that out sooner then later

I used a completely stock Foxeer Foxwhoop 25 for my video's of this radio. So a Digisight cam and I think the VTX is a HDzero Whooplite

what are the other 3 items the camera is plugged into?

Not sure what you ment there Chaz :$ The camera is Only connected to the VTX (video transmitter).. Maybe you ment what was connected to that VTX?? 1. the camera; 2. bettery; 3. antenna; 4. VTX setup board

@DutchRC Adventures - Would really help if you shared your view here. My Futaba T8FG has just gone bust and while I could get it repaired im in the market for a new radio. I'm torn between the FrSkt X18/20 or the Radiomaster TX16S MK2 with AG01 Gimbals. 1. I currently have only FASST receivers so im guessing neither f the 2 will support them 2. looking for the widest possible coverage with the 4in1 MPM 3. The tandem 900 & 2.4 connectivity seems very tempting when I'm flying Fixed wing 4. Would you consider either of these at par with Futaba Quality? I loved my T8FGand its form factor.. OPTION1: X18/20 with 2 Addon Modules (i: ELRS & ii: 4in1) OPTION2: TX16S MK2 AG01 4in1 one Addon Module (i: ELRS) Which one would you advise. How much better in quality is the X18/20

Howdy man :) sooooo I actually mean to do a 1 vs 2 video between those radio's as I do have both.. bugt in short: for airplane flying I would for SURE pick the Frsky X20.. it's not even a fair comparison.. the build quality is far better.. side-sliders are far better.. trims easier to use.. For FPV drone flying.. probably the TX16S mk2 ....

I am never really a long range pilot BUT several kilometers should be more then doable on 2.4Ghz :)

@@ramchandyalamanchili8258 GREAT question I and I'm afraid that's one for the "time will tell" department :) I checked but don't see a seperate firmware for the HDzero part of the radio YET... Carl from HDzero did tell me Frsky will do the firmware support themselves but I do not know how / in what way.... I'm keeping an eye on this ofcourse...

@@DutchRC thank you for the reply. They might have integrated usb to the hdzero vrx module as well but I’m afraid without a dedicated port and a sd card slot there might not be an option to upgrade vtx assuming the x20hd is the only vrx one is having.

@@ramchandyalamanchili8258 well.. we can place firmare's onto the SD card, and then flash receivers / tramsmitter module from there right? (browse the SD card.. click the new firmware file.. flash [something]) It must be something like that which would be quite easy to do (for the user that is) ..

I hear you Robert... At the time of that 'drama' I had a Horus.. and that was even worse: the day I received it I found out it was bricked to not use crossfire.. HDzero isn't a bandwagen at the moment I should say.. ELRS is indeed.. BUT this isn't a political / drama channel.. Personally I want to use these radio's because they are Great Plus: I can't be going around being a fanboy when reviewing things :)
