That shop and floor reminds me of one I worked in years ago, had to put heavy rubber mats around a car before grinding or welding. That's the same shop where I met the painter, and right off he tells me in a week I'll be working for him and washing his car because he'll be correcting all my metalwork! So...after that first full pay period he comes up and says, "I owe you an apology, your work is so straight and true I didn't have to do anything but scuff and shoot, I ain't never made so much money in my life!" He added, if there's anything you need you only have to ask... I needed my car washed and that's what he did...

Been a car nut all my life. Been a bodyman/ painter since I was 15. Love muscle cars. Owner of a bodyshop fourteen years. Never a big fan of Mopars, But this Guy Mark Worman is my Hero. He has accomplished every carnut's dream, doing what he loves and doing it so successfully due to his dedication. I love this show. It's not a propped up hoax show alot.of the others. Just wish he loved Chevrolets as much as Mopars. But I have a greater appreciation of Mopar with every episode. You the Man Mark. You keep me laughing. You go boy.

one of my first jobs was at an Automotive Paint Supplier (of almost that name) this was just before it was computerised ,everything was on micro fiche from all the different paint manufacturers including PPG and I used to love matching old paint ,so watching Mark do spray outs and tinting to match reminded me of many restorations I had a hand in where I would get given a sample of the original and spend hours matching it under as many different light sources as possible . Shame the job didn't pay enough to stay

So glad that I came across your video. I'm a REAL OLD 'gear head' from the 50s/60s. I got a kick out of you talking about the Hemies. Your so right. The '57/58' 392 Hemies were tearing up the drag strips in the early 60s. With TorqFlyte push button trans. By dumb luck, I saw Don Garlits break 200 mph at Island Dragway in northern NJ back in the very early 60s. With a 392 Hemie in his 'Winds Jammer 1' dragster. Thanks again for your workmanship on these classic Mopars.

You're not supposed to rotate a crankshaft in the block until after the main caps are torqued. When they are line bored, they are done with the caps torqued, so when there is no cap in place the block is not actually round and can you score a bearing before the engine ever turns over.

Re 1st starts or carb cars that have sat for years and where running and in otherwise reasonable condition when parked: Those tubes poking into the carb venturis are pipes directly to the float bowls. If you get a small funnel with a bit of vac tube pushed into the end and plug it on the vent tubes then one can fill the float bowls allowing the motor to run on both carbs until the main pump takes over. After pumping the carbs to prime the accelerator pumps, 3 full pumps from both carbs then start the car with the throttle closed. The low pressure depression created behind the throttle butterflies reduces the boiling point of the fuel and it vaporized creating a highly combustible gas so it should start easily. For starting if acc pumps don't work then WD40 works better for starting than pouring raw fuel in. Just crank it an spray it in. Unsure if it's combustible enough? Spray the can and put a lighter to it to see if I'm right or not.

It is a 2dr ht and it was ordered in '59 for delivery in '60. It was factory lightened and has fender mounted front turn signals that are the same as the '68 GTX. you showed nothing about the complete teardown of the engine, what was wrong with it, where and what was frozen, you showed nothing of the Machine shop work they did so that it could be completely rebuilt. The teardown was over and done with in 2 minutes and 5 seconds later everything was done and back to the shop. This should have been a two part episode where one was teardown and travel to the Machine shop and some of their work and then the second part should have been finishing the machining and reassembly of the engine including test stand break-in
