Frostpunk Meets RTS!??! - This game looks amazing! The Last Train Home

Ойындар

Right this game nearly escaped me but it looks amazing, I love Frostpunk so mixing that with RTS gameplay sounds too goo to be true, but this team seems to be trying it!

The visit to that train/museum should be for free, and they have 14 reconstructed traincars, manned with uniformed volunteers. Comented tour for public are done according plan for each station, the train is currently in. BTW, to a degree, that situation is similar to the post-apo sci-fi FPS game Metro - there the main character is traveling with limited number of compadres, using armoured and armed train, wits, special tactics and sheer luck, to venture trough dangerous land...

The thing about Comanche is that it wasn't even originally developed by Ashborne Games but by another development team that was handed down to ashborne for them to clean up their dirty work. The real original developers of Comanche were Nukklear. I love this concept for Last Train Home, and I hope the game achieves major success upon release.

From what I know, the previous dev team on Comanche basically abandoned the project and shut down the servers (It was a multiplayer arcade shooter), THQ decided that they would have to be ashamed of themselves if they let this stand (people buying their game and not being able to play it) so they asked Ashborne to make it work - and they created and delivered the Single player campaign.

@@ashwynnnewkirk Yeah. I did hear about that but I didn’t know exactly why it happened, thanks for telling me. It’s just a shame that it got mixed reviews and some blame it on Ashborne Games but it wasn’t their game to start with, sure they pulled through and helped and made the singleplayer campaign, but it wasn’t their original vision, just working off of blueprint at this point. Last Train Home is their chance now to truly make a game they can call their very own, and turn that mixed review reputation into mostly if not overwhelmingly positive review feedback.

Ashborne games is new studio from people that in past left studios like Bohemia Interactive, Altar games, Ilusion softworks or Pterodon (except Bohemia Interactive all now merged with someone else). In those studios they created games like Hidden and Dangerous, Mafia, Vietcong, Operation Flashpoint, ARMA series, Ufo After... tilogy, Original War and so on. So they are no nubies.

This game popped up on youtube ads a few days ago. I was blown away by the live action sequences combined with the look of the gameplay. It almost reminded me of old command & conquer with the live action cinematics, obviously this looks better haha. Cool looking game, I'm looking forward to trying it!

The actual Artillery car irl is historically accurate they were also self-propelled have a 60Hp petrol engine in them and it looks like the train from BF1 which is also the train that was actually based upon irl a real armored train during ww1 named Zaamurets kzread.info/dash/bejne/c2ultamchKnNqrw.html one of the most famous armored trains of the great war! Today no one knows what happened to the train itself it was lost during ww2 I believe when it was last in the hands of the Chinese or the Japanese I believe before the records of what happened o it was lost even today we don't know the final fate there should be some people who should try and track down to what happened to it I would love to find out what really happened to Zaamurets I'm already planning to hopefully make a series based upon the story of iron harvest, frost punk, dieselpunk, Zaamurets, and snow piercer, etc, the train is the main driving part of the plot within the series and plot. Trains have always fascinated me as a kid even today not as much into them as I once was, but I still love them! Theirs just something about a large piece of monstrous steel flying down the tracks with armor and might coming toward you in the harsh cold environment of winter.

I had a chance to play a mission from the game on Game Access conference - I heard the devs called it a "pax build" so I guess they were there with it too. It was awesome and holy shit it did not hold punches. It was true Xcom-like experience when it comes to difficulty XD Devs really seem to be old-school in that perspective. Loved it, can't wait for the full game.

@@Bandanner Sorry, don't know either of those. Here you had a team with a different profession that had a bunch of skills. Like there was a scout who could reveal a part of the area, machine gunner who could set up a cone to mow down enemies, grenadier. Medic... They had multiple skills too so I guess you unlock those as they level up? Soldiers could go into melee combat. There was a cover system. Enemy soldier's had to notice me first... And when I pressed a space bar the game paused and I could issue even multiple orders to specific soldiers. It was like if a commandos and xcom had a baby. And that baby was an adrenaline junkie (cause unlike either of those, the action was not slow at all)
