Those hallow logs could also be sold for baiting bears. Wisconsin requires you to use all natural methods to contain bait and hallow logs are hard to find when you need them.

Hey Chris, sometimes when you take the weight off the Tung, that little dolly will fly up and hit you, it has happened to me. I learned the first time. I had to put on a 2" ball, I know they come with a 1 7/8" ball. It would be nice to have one like Dan's Wolf Ridge Splitter. That grapple looks Great, it will be a Big Help to you.

Wow, thank you so much David, I am enjoying doing the videos just for you!
With 2 people working the splitter you really need a staging table, some blocks of wood or even the bucket on the tractor so that instead of putting stuff down on the ground and then having to pick it up again you only need to lift it once. My body was in pain just watching the machine lifting a lot of that wood twice.

@@InTheWoodyard If you have a need for a box blade, get that instead of a ballast box. Doesn't take up much more room or hurt maneuverability and you always have the option to push or grade at any time. Plus the way box blades are shaped, it's easy to add a boxes on them to add extra ballast. I leave the box blade on my tractor any time I'm not using another attachment.

If you had a 6 way wedge for those rounds, you’d be one push per round on 80% of those. Plus the 6 way makes a triangular pieces vs square pieces that the 4 way makes. Which I think is more appealing.

Any tips for handling the heat with zero breeze and in the shade? I really struggled today in my woodyard with zero breeze in the shade. Best I could do was split about two facecords today and was exhausted. Drank a good gallon of water to do it. But I did set a personal best record of logs bucked in a day yesterday. Bucked just over two full cords in the heat on Saturday. Been making bug progress on bucking the logs since you vistied me. Thanks again for showing me how to work a log pile.
The grapple looks great. Nice job with the unloading and loading. Get someone to weld some chain hooks onto your bucket. It makes life so much easier when you have to lift something like that.

The next item you need is a counter weight for your tractor. The bad part about buying well made heavy duty attachments, is the weigh a lot. Make sure you buy a counter weight that’s big enough for what you will be lifting.

I think s 24d or 37d with a box wedge would save you a lot of time in handling resplits. With the grapple and a conveyor you could bring the logs to the splitter and fill the dump trailer

Look into a Big Tool Rack for the 3-point, haul around your saws, gas, etc, and can help with rear ballast, also has 2" hitch to pull splitter around. Morning Chris, why didn’t you get your tractor with the quick connect front mount for changing the bucket to grapple or forks ? I think you might regret not having a cab with heat in it as well this winter because the winters in Wisconsin can be brutal.
@InTheWoodyard

The grapple and the bucket both have the skid steer connect. A cab would be nice in the winter, but the dealership recommended not getting one if I was going to use it in the woods at all, because they said a lot of windows get smashed and a lot of guys I talked to said the same thing.
