I watched bits and pieces of this test from Houston, Texas via some weird website's stream. It was the first time I felt acute homesickness. Quite honestly cricket, especially test cricket at the Gabba is the only thing that could make me miss a Brisbane summer.

As a young teenager i used to hate him and think how bad ass he is when i watched him scoring big runs against big teams in that 2012-15 era, until recently i learned about his back injury through social media, that i didn't know of since i didn't had any access to social media back then,it increased my respect for him,and i realized how great player he was with warrior mentality.

Clarke wasn’t technically flawed anyway. Clarke and Watson has the most beautiful technique in the Aussie team. The mentality was the downfall for one, and the arrogance for the other

@@youssefkhan1249 i am not sure mentality was a problem for clarke (on the field). He played some of the best knocks for australia and was really dynamic as a captain. Sure he had some phases where certain weaknesses came up like short ball problem during this season but he dealt it with absolute courage (this knock, his 161 v SA🔥 in the series after). Obviously the back pain restricted his movement towards the end of his career but mentality wise this guy was strong on the field (yeah yeah its a whole different story off the field though...tiffs with katich, watto etc)

@@nahushmodi9269 you’re right, but as an Aussie I’ve always said, the true test of a cricketer is always how well you perform in India, where the ball spins endlessly. We unfortunately haven’t been able to crack the sub continent hurdle in over 20 years. Playing in India is all about patience and technique which the Aussie batsmen struggle with. Hopefully we do well in India this time round.

@@youssefkhan1249 agreed. Although clarke has performed well overall in subcontinent and always looked comfortable. In 2013, he obviously could have handled the spat with watson better though. His captaincy was really active even in that adversity ....just that he had a very inexperienced and incapable team that time. Although him having a grudge against katich also proved detrimental as aus always lacked a solid foundation at the top during clarke's time untill rodgers came along...so often it used to be 50/3. All in all clarke's game managemen & mentality was 10/10 but man-management was 0
