Thanks for making this video! I live in the city and don't have a garage or a proper stand, so I had to make do with a warm January day and a pair of Auto Zone jackstands, but this prepared me for what I needed to do. And I'm really glad that you forgot your chain the first time, because the image of you having to re-do the whole process is what prevented me from forgetting the chain as well. (I really almost did, too.)

Glad to help out!!!!! Thanks for the comment. I've got 51k on the Rex now. I chew through a rear tire about every 3k miles. As you can imagine, I have gotten pretty good at putting the rear wheel back on. BUT, I STILL use that very same trick with the pipe smaller than the axle.

I just did the same thing forgot to put the chain on. I watched your video and used a small breaker bar like you used your bar. Great idea! Thanks for the tip.

thanks for this video. just purchased an 02 ZRX and suspect it has larger than stock rear sproket or smaller front sproket. What size do you run on yours?

ON a ZRX specifically? I imagine someone out there has done the video. The thing to remember is that you don't have to loosen the pinch bolts on the rear. The pinch bolts hold the eccentic in place and you only need to loosen the pinch bolts and eccentric if you'd adjusting the chain, which is VERY seldom on an o-ring chain. Basically just put allen wrenches in both sides of the axle and loosen. Use the allen (hex) wrenches from the bike's toolkit. Then pull the axle out. You have to loosen the brake hanger too. The ecctrics actually make it a super easy job. Easier than a lot of other bikes. I'm sure you can find all the specifics on the ZRXOA (ZRX owners forum).

Don the Onion Yes, the eccentrics only. Loosen the pinch bolts on each side and adjust with an allen / hex wrench. Re-tighten pinch bolts when done.

got it thanks, i figured i would have to change the stance of the bike quite a bit to get my chain tight. i had 2 inches of play in it when the manual says only 1 inch. i figured out how to tighten it, i feel stupid since it was so simple haha. only had to pull it back one hash mark. thanks man!

Chain adjustment and wheel alignment video would be good.

Disassembly is the reverse of assembly in the video. No need to loosen the pinch bolts on the swing arm.
