Craig and his team have to be so damn good at their job to make a story out of what Activision limited them to. Such a damn shame that we can’t get the full vision of what they wanted. Instead they were stuck with reused assets from the campaign.

Honestly that’s what I’ve been thinking this whole time. Very WaW energy with the maps being a lot more grounded and only so many hints and clues as to everything else that exists in that universe. As they expand it should only get better and may get to a new bo3 point where everyone’s thoroughly invested in the story again and we have a new group of people that we love. They can honestly go so many ways with this story and I’m excited and hopeful to see where it goes

I'd imagine that CW ends on a cliffhanger which leads us into a prequel of Omega first discovering things about the DA. After the vanguard story ends by showing the particle accelerator being shut down or restarting, it leads into the cod2022 zombies which will take place in the 2010's (i hope).

@@j.s9893 Omega Group was formed on August 30th, 1975 and we have the Requiem memo from William J. Casey to President Reagan dated to 5 Nov 1983. Vanguard can't use Requiem or Omega because they wouldn't have even existed. Given the return of Captain Carver Butcher from WW2, I think it's far more likely they'll be integrating aspects of WW2 zombies, and specifically the Bureau of Archaic Technologies.

Requiem and Omega only serve as a metaphor for the cold war. Eg advancing weapons tech with new perks and tiers as requiem learns more via the outbreak experiments. Vanguard is going to have a more all out world war theme. Fitting that the rumored map name is war of the dead

That's honestly the one thing I have an issue with. I miss hearing my character have a personality. Now it's just generic soldier "I killed them", "I killed a whole bunch of them" quotes. Ik those have been a thing in zombies but when those characters said something, they at least had character doing so. Not just "scratched one undead." "That's one tango down" ect.

I know, right? We're going into nearly 40 maps now, and they've continually tried to ensure each one had new stuff in it. They've always been willing to experiment, even if it risked being annoying. Zombies Chronicles 2 Please

Man i love craigs writing and his smooth but very nice commentary, gives it an intimate but professional feel, ig it just feels nice watching a vid and not have a youtuber scream in my face for the first 30 seconds with an intro lol

You can easily tell despite it’s obviously lower focus of development still, Craig Houston continues to go absolutely above and beyond with the new director to tell a nicely done story.

Die machina was good, not remotely as good as most maps that came out after bo1, but a good starting point for a new story. Firebase Z instead felt really underwhelming, tho still a lot of fun to play. Outbreak is a good concept but outside of objectives there are only small groups of zombies so it gets boring after 3-4 world tiers. Mauer der toten felt like an actual zombies map, big and with plenty of challenges. I'm gonna look forward to the next map, hopefully it will be just as good as the classic ones. Cold war had a mess of a launch, tons of glitches (mostly on PC), the multiplayer was unplayable, and very few maps to choose from, but as seasons went on we got quite a lot of stuff to do. It's a shame you're going to move to Vanguard instead of adding more content to cold war, but i guess it wouldn't be Call of Duty anymore if we didn't have a new game every year and leave the older titles to rot. I am not interested in Vanguard since it looks and plays like a 70 dollars mod for Modern Warfare, so I'm gonna skip it, but either way, good luck with the zombies and dark aether storylines.

I would consider giving Vanguard a chance. Treyarch is only working on the zombies portion of the game so this game actually has a decent chance at having the most quality content we have had in a while.

I miss the old zombie mechanics. By that I mean just perks, guns, and survive. I don’t like how they have different perk tier levels, different types of point systems, scorestreaks, armor, and a map. There are a lot of things on the HUD not as crazy as BO4 but still got plenty of things. I don’t like the new zombies. But oh well

@@xxthewerewolfxx4445 tbf the tiers add a grinding system to try to add replay ability. I don’t think that’s the issue. Armor is preference it adds another layer of strategy trying to maintain armor throughout high rounds. I think the main issue with Cold War is the warzone like hud which actually removed a lot of vibe to zombies and the unique 4 characters. If vanguard makes the 4 characters you play Kravchencho, peck, maxis, and weaver that would be fucking sick

Well theyre not completely ending it. This is only the opening chapter. Vanguard will be the ww2 origins of the dark aether storyline and i would assume the next cod that has zombies will have treyarch developing it and will also continue the future of the dark aether story.

Krevchenko Gaming Gorod just had the boss fight copy and pasted from campaign though, everything else was unique. This map is literally set in a campaign mission with a boss zombie that is a recycled Margwa.

We want and need Zombies Chronicles DLC for Cold War. BO4 Zombies was good, but it's dead cuz you abandoned it and didn't release ZC2 for it. I bought this game for zombies and only really play zombies but man I’m still so disappointed so hopefully the new map makes up for the lack of content

I personally can’t really get into the new characters and story continued or whatever I feel more needed to be done with the og aether timeline it’s literally what we all grew up with. I got Cold War and have barely played because it’s just not what cod zombies used to be :/ now with the flop of vanguard it’s just eh

Excited but tbh not gonna buy Vanguard after this year of only getting 4 round based maps:/ Edit: will probably wait for a sale

I can understand... But to be fair we got all these zombie content for free instead of a $50 season pass which I'm personally fine with as I really enjoyed this year's gameplay overall and Outbreak was actually good (despite what reddit and KZreadrs say)
