Live in Santa Fe and sat next to Ali MacGraw on a flight about 3 years ago. She is beyond beautiful and we talked about animal rescue for 2 hours. She was so down to earth and the opposite of pretentious. I acted as though I did not know who she was as I did not want to be a gawking fan, her work in/around Santa Fe for animal rescue is legendary. She is an amazing woman.

I had the opportunity to meet both Ryan and Ali together. They were wonderful to talk with and I found both to be very grounded. They signed a Love Story poster for me and a little music box I had that played the theme from Love Story. Ali got a big kick out of it. Regardless of Ryan's reputation for being pugnacious and hot headed he was great to me and that is how I will remember him. R.I.P.

Having lost both of my parents (my father 36 years ago, and my mother not quite two years ago), I admire your courage at experiencing such a loss back then. I was 13 when this film was released, and after seeing it in the theater, my friends and I ran out and bought both the paperback as well as the album. Still have both. One of the movie highlight memories of my youth and it still brings tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart, now that time, age and personal loss has come my way.

The Catholic Church banned but I went out and watched it with a friend. The line, “Love Means NeverHaving To Say You’re Sorry”, was confusing to me for a long time. Then I realized. I had never heard my parents utter those words to one another. Yet, it was obviously clear to their children that they totally and honestly loved one another, unconditionally. Never heard them have a disagreement or fight. That says a lot

Ali must be quite sad in Santa Fe. Attends International Folk Art Festival all the time, met her there. Guess Ryan never made it. RIP.

I used to work in an old building in Malibu, right across the street from Ryan O'Neal's residence on Pacific Coast Highway. I sometimes see him outside his home. He was such a handsome guy in his younger days. RIP

I remember my older sisters being wild about that movie and they got dressed up and went on double dates to see it a few times. I was given a music box the Christmas after the release of “Love Story” and it played the theme song. I nearly wore it out. I read the book and watched the movie as an adult - what a tear-jerker!

My future wife and I dated in 1971. We were in the Boston area. I asked my future wife to a movie at Cleveland Circle in Brookline. We took the trolly car to Cleveland Circle and saw this movie on one of our 1st dates. To me, this was the Irish version of Romeo and Juliet! Except my future wife was not Irish, she was allegedly Greek. But like Ali McGraw, she turned out to be far more sophisticated and complicated! Her mother passed away tonight at age 101. My mother-in-law lived in Coolidge Corner, which is near Cleveland Circle. The passing of Ryan O’Neil and my mother in law at dates so close to each other is remarkable!

What a cool dude in his time, yes ad I He had flaws and failings but I place my bet that He lived a full life and what more should asked of anyone who survived two kinds of Cancer. I will remember him from his role in Love Story, He and Ali can now rest in Peace.
