From the archives: LAPD announces search for O.J. Simpson in 1994
On June 17, 1994, the Los Angeles Police Department announced O.J. Simpson had been charged with murder and couldn't be located. At the time, Simpson was wanted for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. He would later be acquitted of the murders, but was found financially liable for them. Dan Rather anchored CBS News' special report.

I remember watching this live - I'll never forget the collective gasp in the room when Gascon said that the LAPD was looking for Simpson. That's when you knew shitake was about to get real.

I ,too, watched this live. Who would've ever thought that at that time OJ would've gotten away with it. I remember telling a buddy the morning after the murders I hope he didn't do it but thinking he probably had done it. If I hadn't lived through it all I wouldn't believe the whole saga.
