There is a flow of thought from B. Tharp that you grow to appreciate in this video. She's spilling a stream of consciousness that brings you to the photo(s) and this places me in the spot, with the camera, and with the choices she had before her. I like this and appreciate it. I want to both argue with her and ask more with what she emphasizes. As the minutes march on in this viewing, the more I'm drawn in.

She definitely knows her camera inside and out, knows where to look to see what most people don't see. I can't get rid of the feeling that some of her nature photos would look much more stunning in HDR.

Definitely one of the best B+H presentations I have seen. Not exactly tons of news for enthusiast level, but knowledgeably and engagingly presented - and illustrated with instructive images, some of which are wow quality. Makes you want to grab your gear and shoot. Brenda's workshops must be fun.

Watching in 2019 This is so timeless I wish I have seen this when I was starting Photography in 1985 @ 12 years old! So much quality info. Compositions, Rule of Thirds, leading lines, colors, negative space, angles and I probably missed commenting on many more techniques. I love that you mentioned Brian Peterson and Monet. Both are excellent in their fields. Abstract, multiple shots, and moving your camera to create abstract Photographs ( art ) is a technique I have also learned in the past. So much Info. Thank you and B&H

I fell asleep on the couch with KZread on and woke up well into your lecture here. I watched it for a bit and thought, "this woman is on fire". I got up to watch to the end, and saved it to watch through again. I don't have an opportunity or the means to visit all these exotic places, but i do run through the list of shape, line, light, texture and gesture when I am out walking my camera. You are an enthusiastic and gifted communicator, and a first class photographer. I'm following you on Instagram. Thank you!

I have just barely watched the beginning of this video and know with a doubt that you are so spot on with this Brenda. I feel a kindred spirit with you. I too have not really found my forte or niche but I love taking photos of everything and anything. I've done stroboscopic, smoke, water droplets with the crown, oil and water, nature, landscape....I love it all...!!!!! I have to admit that i probably the worst photographer when it comes to carrying my camera with me though. But I do use my creative senses when I am out and about.

Know this video is a far years old and you mention a few times what camera and lens you use. What type of camera and lens do you like to travel with today? There is a lot of talk about mirrorless now , I owe a DSLR. What did you mean About your “ stock” days? Thank you!

I can't say I'm a big fan of abstract photos, so not exactly my taste in terms of her photos. But, for anyone zoning out because they aren't into abstract photos, step back and have a good listen to what she's saying. Very good lessons as to how to find different ways to view things, which is the key to making good, original photos.
