From Rank 1 to Jagex Sabotage | The Fall of SUOMI

Throughout RuneScape’s history, many players have found their claim to fame through achieving high-ranks on the high scores. SUOMI was the ultimate example of this. Playing RuneScape 10 to 15 hours a day consistently for years he was able to become the first player ever to reach 200 million experience in all skills. His journey didn’t come trouble-free, by many accounts he was wronged by Jagex. In this video, I talk about all of it: his humble beginning, the drive for 5billion XP, and his eventual downfall. Even if you’re an OSRS player, you’re still going to enjoy this video!

Honestly, Jagex have historically be such a scummy company at times. Remember all this fuckery like it was yesterday and giving the golden gnome to Jake was such a dead ass move. Maybe Jagex should have listened to suomis criticisms given so many players agreed at the time, hence the successes of osrs. Still- Suomi is an RS legend.

I remember.. shortly after I got a over the top 15 year ban, and still banned due today, for posting a KZread link... On top of this there was a period where Jmods would stalk him while he was killing cave crawlers for effigies. You could get a lot of effigies per hour killing them and they were basically a free 120k exp across 5 skills. The j mods would disguise themselves as a rock or be out of bounds with their character model hidden. You could still see the dot on the map and right click them though. He would always say hi to them because he always caught them and was not botting like they suspected. He posted multiple videos where he would catch them. Sad days. But op exp :)

A lot of older games and game companies have a habit of doing this. An old school player who played since the first year and grinded to a certain achievement, to then get screwed over by the devs because 'the game needs a new breeze' to never acknowledge the achievement said player achieved. Only old school players will remember the name and tell their legacy but they will never be honoured by the devs or new players (as far as there are new players) will never know about their existence.

I never remember him begging for money. He was so polite the few times I ran into him back then. Some things seem a lil skewed in the video granted he had a goal and was busy back then he did take time off for a few certain players he played with, and at least would take time to message people in the game back. Their were a couple CCs back then dragging his name relentlessly giving him a bad look for simply taking donations. You didnt feel obligated to give him gold, but you wanted to see him reach that milestone. A lot of people did back then so thats why a lot of people did donate. SUOMI was the people's champ, and by today's standard would be a very popular Streamer.

It's better now - a lot more like other MMOs to an extent, and the update absolutely killed PVP, but I find the PVM content still pretty fun. What I said earlier though, still applies. Firemaking was actually really easy in Runescape classic, it was the only 99 I got before the game switched over to rs2 in 2003-2004. When you had a full inventory and you chopped another log, the log would land at your feet. So you would fill your inventory, goto an area like draynor with tons of trees, cut a tree, it falls at your feet, and then you light it at your feet. It was probably the easiest, and one of the fastest skills to train. Also you trained on normal trees and normal logs, but in classic, those trees xp scaled with your level, so it was fast xp at higher levels.
