Very happy to do so. You all were very much in mind when considering what these platforms can become and hope others will follow your lead in establishing the kind of community you all are fostering.

Philosophers who dismiss KZread as a medium for teaching are confusing the differences in KZread “content”. We have plenty of well meaning educators who speak precisely and earnestly, I would be so far behind where I am now without them. In this way (and in other ways) philosophy on KZread can be accurately taught.

Hey Brian. Lot to chew over here. The Young Žižekians appreciate the shout-out. In the midst of content creators driven by the attention economy, your work stands alone as an exemplar of intellectual integrity!

I have been binging philosophy videos on youtube, and let me tell you, once you get to the logic of givenness it gets wild😂

The conflict you showcase is what makes the effort so important. (Submission to the masses is not very cool. Reading & writing...boring. So much repetition of same conclusions, over and over again. Take inspiration from, don't 'work' the work.) That said; u and I have reached the same conclusion. (re: questioning) The Tension is what proves it's merit, imo, tho. Thank u for articulating these concerns. They helped me.

You don’t needa make catchy thumbnails, it doesn’t apply to your channel. (I think). I like the one’s dr Sadler uses.

You are probably right and its something I’ve mulled over. Sadler’s work is the original inspiration for much of what I do (esp his Hegel series) and he very much reflects the best of KZread Philosophy. I would extend your comment to some of my in video decisions. All of it takes time away from what is most important. But Im of two minds on this matter. I’ve repeatedly encountered how much aesthetically pleasing book covers influence the decisions of even seasoned academics to read or not. As a psychologist Im also very aware of how subconscious affect implicitly influences our decisions. Ive continued to attempt such thumbnails for this reason, to attract viewers into the substance through the surface while hoping not to alienate and turn away those who don't need it to watch these videos. How successful I am is another matter altogether. It will be smthng I will continue assessing and perhap will go another direction in the future. I admit the thumbnail for this video is a particularly egregious offender.
