From logs to wood chips: A 430K liters harvesting procedure | Silverrun Forest | FS 22 | ep #32

Welcome back to the Silverrun Forest Timelapse. Today, we are continuing with our wood chip logging and will be able to trace the entire process from log harvesting to chip production. To start, we fell trees and cut them into eight-meter logs. We then load the logs onto a trailer and transport them to the woodyard. Using a crane, we load the logs into the chipper and transfer the chips to the storage area. In total, we have successfully produced 430,000 liters of wood chips.

I used to do wood chips in a very similar way, I’ve shifted things more towards poplar for wood chips now and I use my trees for other productions. I enjoy doing it this way for about an hour then I’m set for a while 😂

I just couldnt see myself doing all that for some wood chips. I would build another input for trees in the sawmill....? Otherwise it's a good process.

I believe it’s just at the saw mill on silver run forest, not sure if it’s in silos by itself
