Hey Ed! Totally awesome set indeed. I totally agree on the channel separation aspect as well. I do feel the instruments are little more open dynamic. Could be my own experience with my cartridge/stylus. But what you have pointed out is totally correct on the drifting on the stylus and seems it is off the center. Even with the tracking it does the light jump. Also for the price what we paid, I believe they should have done better on the control. It never ends Ed. Not many of us can afford the system it would take to truly hear the difference or even know which system that would be. It does look like a cool box set though and I have a hard time resisting these types of releases.

I got mine a couple weeks ago. The sound is great. The separation of the channels is amazing. Mine plays good. I think it's worth buying. It's limited edition!! With a number. I enjoyed it.

Any Sound Tracks Recorded At American Sound Studios. Are Masterpieces. I Have Both Originals. FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS And ELVIS BACK IN MEMPHIS. Chips Moman was A Genius.

Hi Ed...after watching this you sparked my curiosity! I have what I believe to be a 1976 pressing of this album, black RCA label! I listened to it this morning and there is a definite difference in the MOFI audiophile release! There is a big difference in the sound quality! Just my opinion!

I have a late 1970s Australian copy which sounds very good but my 1982 Mobile Fidelity From Elvis In Memphis mastered from the original tapes sounds fantastic. I believe this new Mobile Fidelity is digital but production of vinyl no doubt has improved greatly. I have also read the Speakers Corner version is very good as well and well done ED thank you for sharing this new release Cheers Carl Australia.

I wish they'd give pictures like that to the CDs I got two pictures in one of my CDs the same CD has two pictures I just wished I had more pictures from the other CDs I love my 60 album collection CDs

I don't understand why MFSL can't just sell the DSD 256 digital audio file ? .... That audio would (almost) equal the original master tape.

An incredible album by elvis. Reviewed the one step lp. Love it.

I just bought the CD version which will sound every bit as good as the LP

I received my SACD #925 about a week ago. Was I pleased? I did a comparison Legacy Edition and I think the Legacy wins. I’m gonna have to play them again. They still haven’t mixed it properly with the incredible bass over load coming out of the one channel. 😢

The Moman original mix is not great in the first place. Too much reverb on Elvis' voice and binaural mixes on the studio band. The overdubs were mixed well though.

I appreciate your honesty about the vinyl. If I had purchased I don’t think it would have been my go to either. Is the few songs on each album and turn it over annoying Ed? That is one reason it would not be go to. Thanks again Ed

Great video Ed!! I have to agree with most everything you said, if not everything. I don't know if it would be "my go to" version either. I have really tried, well to be honest, i have gotten into the whole vinyl thing, and again, i agree it is hard to be blown away (granted you Ed have far and away more versions of every Elvis record vinyl or CD than most Elvis collectors)....so naturally it is difficult for you to be blown away. As much as i dislike to say this, for all the $ that i have put into a turntable and cartridge....which as you already know, can be thousands, it seems, to my ears, i get better dynamics, better separation of instruments, better detail, dare i say, better everything including sound..... definitely better convenience, with the SACD for a fraction of the price of the vinyl. Granted vinyl is "nostalgic" and all that....but sound quality....the SACD is superior....granted and SACD player is expensive too and vinyl sounds great if one does not have cd or SACD....and MoFi vinyl is great.....but after trying both versions or formats....like you said, it is hard to be "blown away" and this version of the vinyl will not be my "go to" version for best sound quality.....i know you know what i mean. Like many have commented....the SACD is difficult to beat. Others have mentioned the MoFi version of MJ's Thriller $125 MoFi One-step, which again, i also have and did the "experiment"....the vinyl sounds great....better than the original?? Like you said, i will agree, it is hard to beat the original (partly because that is what we are USED to and familiar hearing) but the SACD seemed to have better highs and lows (dynamics) and more detail.....i could hear things i did not notice on the vinyl....for a fraction of the price. But this of course is just my opinion and sound quality is subjective.....but after soending tons of $ on both a vinyl system and an SACD player.....i just think the sacd sounds much better and I don't know if i can ever spend the $ for another MoFi One-step.....but that's just mho. It's very cool, Ed, that you like vinyl and CDs. SACD's are mastered with higher highs and lower lows because they are yes, God forbid digital.....but that is a whole other debate between digital and vinyl....but all i care about is the best sound....live like, or "life like" sound to make it sound like Elvis is alive right in front of me in person in my listening space.....who could ask for more, Except You Ed who has been there and seen Elvis alive in person....which you are very lucky, but you know what i mean. Sorry this is SO long. Great video as always!!!!

Ed, thanks for showing. I have it since last week, but didn't open it because of the lid top box. (expected a box like MJ's Thriller in a slipcase). But after seeing it now, I cannot help being disappointed in the presentation. A cardboard print? WTF?! Expected a glossy gatefold or something, don't know, but not 2 black sleeve's with a cd sized cover on it. And it wobbles and is off-center? 🤣 I paid €149 for it and expected top-quality. I think I shelf it and play the SACD which should come in today. Again ED, thanks for your honest opinion, much appreciated

Being 45 RPM, I would concentrate on dynamics as being the greatest difference between the MOFI and others.

A nice piece for a true collector, but I'm not so sure it's worth this price 😮

It looks very impressive and well packaged.... But I'm not in the slightly bit interested to be honest ! So many more exciting new releases to acquire.... I think the sound is great, but this being my first one-step, I’m pretty disappointed in the pressing quality. Mine had a scuff on suspicious minds that made an audible click throughout the second half of the song. Also, I have never received a mofi record that was completely centered. That also goes for analogue production and other “high end” audiophile labels. There is always some side-to-side movement. Also, my box came slightly warped (I think yours was too) and so the box doesn’t stay completely shut when placed on a shelf. I think for $125 its unacceptable.

The only thing that I would've changed about this album is that it needed "Stranger In My Own Hometown" somewhere on there, probably as a closer.

@@thepuma2012 In a rare act of fairness, Col. Parker really scoffed at the idea of double-charging fans for songs that they had already purchased. If a song was a single release, Parker felt that putting that same song on an album was ripping off the fans. That's why so many Elvis hit singles were never released on album. A classic example is the "Elvis Is Back" album.

@@modernretroradio993 that s strange, it was common to have an album with a hitsong on it....

Mine had a issue with a slight warp on LP 1 and I called music direct where I ordered it and they simply sent out a replacement. Just give them a call and they will send you out a replacement.

I love this album, but not happy with even the original stereo mix. I like the drums centered, not off to one side. The mixes on The Memphis Record I prefer.

Its about 170 euros here in the E.U, but i'll be getting it next month i think 😁

Vinyl isn't perfect but if the records are pressed off center, you should get a replacement.

My thoughts it's a little bit overpriced, It's basically one album split in two records, no booklet, no inner sleeves, how come it's so expensive ?...ah limited edition ? maybe...

Keen to hear your opinion of thiss release with the Music on Vinyl release. I'm in Australia and have 2 original and the MOV releases, tossing up whether its worth picking up one, but here is nearly $300AUD, and that aint cheap considering the MOV was $55AUD.

And what about the cd version? Anyone can give advices?

Just trying to understand as to why would someone buy the same material over and over again! Also in reference to a previous post with regards to the MSG album. It's always the same material with a different packaging. It"s obvious the record company is running out of ideas so the only way to keep the wheels turning is to get creative. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing.
