When they are economically better off, they have fewer children. When they are better educated, they have fewer children. This is pretty shitty when you peel back the layers. These people are a virus with run away birth producing unacceptable volumes of children, and doing so, in the most dire of conditions... with no restraint. Now you've provided a resource enabling non-restrictive birthrates....which will need that many more acres of land per person, and that much more water...when you've worked the land JUST to get the current water. The world, is 100% screwed, per a run away population explosion.

@@Blakelikesfood not entirely true. Extreme large family are only bad when children grow up from poor conditions usually in a city. They grow up to be mostly burden to society and become criminals. But in rural areas, it is not always the case. True that they give birth to many children, but most of these children are just deprived. If you give them opportunity to better education and better way of life, they learn and appreciate the way of life that they have. Rural areas are vital to society. Farmers are the backbone of economy. And farming is a laborious task. Having many children would mean more will take responsibility in taking care of the farm and helping their parents if some of the siblings would choose to move out and work in the city. Now, about your resources problem being screwed, whatever shit you learn from media and whichever country you come from, India is second largest population but their culture has always abundance in terms of food. I'm a filipino and tell you that indian food is so special than any other cuisines I have tasted. The spices you enjoy now originated in India. The wealth the fucking british enjoys are stolen wealth from India. They ar only reviving a lost land due to wrong practices. It has been corrected by teaching and Cooperation and the fruit of their labor has paid off. Now about consumption, again, whatever shit you learned from the media, we don't have food shortage. Only lack of aerable/fertile land like what most people in Australia and middle east has. The earth is so big if u are truly aware that a few villages who are taught to harvest water will not be a burden to mother nature. Farmers in villages are the most low carbon footprint people. They will not deplete the resources if you teach them the consequences instead of leaving them to suffer. The only solution is for people to move out of the city and be sustainable. Farmers don't over indulge themselves like city folks do. And to say that having many children is shitty only means you lack the idea of why civilization was established and why countries like canada are encouraging immigration. People are also resources. The earth will not be depleted if people live frugal lives like the farmers. Shame on you for looking down on them when people from the city contributes more waste and consumes beyond their need.

@@martand7 the reality is for us that have natural intuition about harvesting water from contours and how water behaves is not how these people learn about farming; they are not ignorant it is just they do not have the old traditions and teachings that existed to be shared to these people because governments have usurped these positions but unfortunately they lack real world knowledge and effective on the ground experience to disseminate these systems and to assist their people in droughts. governments are only good for bureaucracy and economic balancing but at the ground level where the people live their daily lives they have no idea! that is why it only took a few days of theory but the application of the theory required a lot of villagers and manpower to build.

Really Impressive - Maharashtra govt Initiates of Jalayukta Shivar for making 5000 Drought free villages along with Paani Foundation.. See This results when we have a good govt , NGO's to dive in. and hats of to Paani Foundation. Congress Govt always says we are with poor people, But never did any thing on the ground 65 yrs is a very long to fix time.

Bahut acha laga ki maharashtra ke CM sir ne itne ache se iss program ko support kiya..great work sir...govt. har problem ko solve ni kr skti aur har problem ke liye hum govt. Ko blame ni kr skte...great work by pani foundation...

Those who are making negative comments..are you deaf...you have certain ideology and mindset sooooooooo deeply rooted in you that you are not open to anything positive...Mr.Amir Khan and Kiran Rao mam are founder members of paani. And one more thing .There are many ideas out there to implement..but YOU go and try to help people..they won't listen . But surely we need some strong personality to motivate people to do something insanely impossible. So please keep your hatred aside .and at least open your eyes.

There is a need for inculcating basic communicative skills for our brothers and sisters. This will boost their confidence to the next level.

Its always said that India's large population is the root of every problem. But Paani foundation has demonstrated that a large population is a large resource base, which can be mobilised to create wonders and unimaginable solutions. What a great job. Love the overwhelming emotions of the people (heroes)!! Congratulations to everyone.

A trillion likes for this excellent video....have tears in my eyes ad i type this.so relieved that all is not lost .just a little awareness and responsibility can indeed do such wonders.Born in Bhusawal ,Maharashtra was shocked to see it treeless and now facing a water crisis.Hope they watch this and work together. I am from kolkata and the heat this year has become unbearable.would love to join a similar organisation which goes around planting trees during the monsoons.Only trillions of trees in our vast country can bring down temperatures.Thanks for the inspiration...
