From Depression & Separation to Multi-Millionaire | Deki Shukla | Mompreneur #84
As a refugee who embarked on a harrowing journey to escape a troubled past at a tender age, marked by the absence of familial connections for countless years, narratives have become my lifeline. Without the semblance of a permanent address, stories have emerged as my sole asset, composed of dreams, hopes, and ideas-a treasure trove I hold in the highest regard.
My upbringing was steeped in the richness of narratives, acting as the driving force behind my pursuit of continuous growth and self-improvement. This journey has not only solidified my passion for storytelling but has also highlighted the profound impact it has on our scattered global community. This endeavor has served as a vital bridge, fostering mutual understanding among individuals from varying walks of life. It's been instrumental in bridging the generational gap, uniting the wisdom of yesteryears with the vigor of the present through the conduit of stories, experiences, and ideas.

Very inspiring line.... "Mummy i don't want to eat Uber eats... Ask brother to boil rice i will cook broccoli because l want to save my pocket money to sponsor TCV students"... Huge sacrifice by your children at this age. May God bless your children and also protect your children.

One of the most inspiring interviews I've seen. For a second I was very angry at her husband and wanted to blame his Indianness, his otherness, for his being so lacking in empathy and sense of responsibility. Then I realized Tibetan men are equally capable of being abusive toward their wives. My father, until he gave up alcohol, was same, if not worse. Deki la reminds me of my mother, always putting her children's welfare above all else. Deki la also reminds me of the inherent goodness and resilience in women, barring a few like her ex mother in law. Thank you Deki la and A-haa.
Proud of Tibetan women like you.👍👍👍

I don't see that in the Tibetan community in Sydney. No single Tibetan help me when my Tibetan husband had physical and financial and emotional abuses to me. They all came here as refugees but they are lack of compassion.
Salute to Acha Deki la! Truly admirable & this is what Tibetan woman really exemplifies. Kindness, compassion, persistence, and everything!

people are supposed to be good to others. No one likes to live in a society like China which is hostile place. Tibetans should not build a society which is similar to China.

@@whitecolour4390with due respect your feeling I just want add that marring Indian guy is not failure. In our community also We have lot more worse people than Indian man. But yes I agree that she met with wrong guy. It could be Indian or Tibetan or someone else. You shouldn't be judging people by their nationality.... Remember half of our Tibetan population dependent on other nations as REFUGEES.
I can only imagine how difficult things must have been, but it's truly inspiring to see how she managed to overcome them. Your resilience is truly remarkable. Please convey my deepest respect for Acha Deki Lak.
I cried so much when you suffered so badly, but I can see how resilient you have been, through all these hardships. May you always remain blessed. 💐💐💐
The key lesson here is to never endure an abusive relationship or marriage. Prioritise your own well being, your childrens’ happiness and overall peace. Don’t settle in places where you are not welcomed or valued. Society shamelessly expects women to put everyone above themselves to make their family, their husbands and in- laws happy. Then only do we get compliments like, “such a good woman”, “great mom”, “great wife”, “great daughter”. Sometimes us women even perpetuate these narratives because we are conditioned to think that since childhood and we have internalized it. But all we really need is a wake up call like this. Children needs both parents but not if having them both risks their well-being too. If anything costs your sanity and mental health, it’s not worth it. Don’t just walk away, RUN and never look back. Much love to Acha Deki la 🎉❤
She is one of the strongest woman I have heard in Tibetan community.hatsoff to you dicki la.
By far the best episode of your channel, Not belittling other people’s personal journeys. Dicki’s life story is solely inspiration and courage, despite all the adversity a life can throw on one. Tonight I feel proud to learn of a Tibetan woman who stood up strong and proved the world otherwise. Thank you Diki for being the beautiful and strong mother and a daughter. Your story has touched me deeply

Very very proud of you!!! This is the strength of Tibetan women!
Very emotional story and she is kind, patience and compassionate Tibetan women who have strong courage and confidence with her life...
Most watched video of Aha Moment!!!! What an inspirational lady. Lot of things to be learnt from her experiences. Her genuine emotions and expression of gratefulness towards His Holiness the Great Dalai Lama and her school, signifies the true character of Tibetans all over the world. Your kids may not speak Tibetan fluently but the way they have the helping nature towards others speaks loud and clear that they are pure Tibetans by heart. Keep up the great work going!!! You are an inspiration to many!!!!!
I’m so proud of you Acha … you’ve faced a lot problems yet you stood strong because of your kids, that’s what makes you good mom , you thought only abt your kids and did everything you could to just keep them safe and sound … your story is just so inspirational and overwhelming.I’m so glad we got to hear your story and thank you so much for inspiring a lot of us younger generations 🙏💕
Yes, this is the type of story that can make a real difference in terms of being a veritable eye-opener to many who know how to listen to. For me, listening to her is like reading a veritable page-turner, with her Tibetanness and humaneness standing out as something much more than a palliative cushion to what she had undergone, once she learned about the complicated case of her husband's mental health. The bliss and wonder being sustained by her three angels, her sensible children, who know their dear mom, who knows her own mom, the sturdy backbone of her life's struggle story so far. Thanks for this learning episode. In essence, I salute to her retentiveness.
When u listen to this type of true story u can’t skip. Respect for Deki la u r journey touches many of our Tibetan people hearts. It’s show hard works always payoff. Inspiring women of Tibet ❤
This is truly awe-inspiring story. She is a strong-headed lady, and we, as Tibetans, are immensely proud of her.
This such a success story. I am so glad she had the strength to come out of so much hardship. It’s truly inspiring to listen to Diki la talking about her gratitude to His Holiness and Amala
Moral of the her story is never give up. Achak la I felt so proud of you that you are really hardworking women . Tibetan people need to learn of her a lots.👍

I am glad that her life turned out great after struggling with so much pain and suffering from all these years. I cried my heart out while listening her struggle and imagining her being in that battle. I felt her as mother to mother.
What an emotional and inspirational story! She is truly a strong resilient Tibetan woman! She is a great result of His Holiness’ sacrifices for Tibetans! Long live HH The Dalai Lama!
Tashi Delek ! Dekyi la deeply touch my heart. May the Jetsun Dolma always bless you all.
People shouldn't judge you by your success, judge you by how many times you fell down and got back up again. This time You express everything just to learn someone from your struggle which normally you don't share your problems. Good job. Love you my sister. Bless you. ❤
Same here . Our Tibetan women really strong. We can face any challenges. God bless
this brought tears to my eyes. I am going through something too but no where what u have gone through. But for myself its one of the hardest battle. Ur words are very encouraging and has motivated me to continue my fight. I know nothing in life is easy and a day will come when we have to make tough decision when everyone will have to go through the worst. when that happens its I myself that decides and thats when u can make it or break out. Am happy she fought and became a success. This also an example of a Tibetan who has truly followed the teachings his holiness. Bless you!
The mindset, the will power to get the child's custody, and having felt the responsibility to pay back the debt to her own community is commendable. Respect❤
I admire you for choosing the baby over the money. Sis! Be strong! You have a baby, you have a future. We support you, come on 💪! Having kids makes you rich, really. The good days ahead are yours. We love you.

Felt so heavy at heart to listen to story of Acha Deki la but at the same time it gave more courage and strength to face adversities of life. Thanks for sharing your struggle story and success achieved with all the hard work you did.
I wanted to express my gratitude for featuring such a heartfelt story on your platform. While Indians might often have movies portraying such narratives, for us Bhuchungla, your platform serves as a unique avenue to immerse ourselves in these experiences. It serves as a poignant reminder to be grateful to our leaders, especially His Holiness, for providing us with a nurturing upbringing. Thank you for creating a space where we can connect with these meaningful stories.
Deki la, you are an inspiration to many hardworking people especially to our Tibetan people. The phrase “WHEN GOING GETS TOUGH, TOUGH GETS GOING” fits you very much. Nothing is Imposible as the word itself says I’m Possible when one does not lose courage and determination. Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage and determination. Keep shining…. Hats off to you!
Brave women.bless you.
What a harrowing story and yet also a story of amazing resilience and business acumen and success. It’s sad that victims enable their abuse because of perceived romantic love, of situation with kids etc. She was quick to forgive the ex for all the horrible treatments saying his bipolar caused them. But that’s not true. Bipolar cannot be excuse for such abusive behavior and exploitation by him and his family. It has more to do with the Indian middle class values and mentality, treating daughters in laws as nothing but an opportunity to exploit. You know all the stories of endless dowry demands and bride burnings. Obsessed with wealth and physical appearances. The son as perfect always. Very little genuine love and compassion for the human being. I hope you drop that last name and teach your children the values that you and your Tibetan community share. They have gone thru so much also, poor things!
@ngacho3984
3 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s true. In laws think they are superior. Richness of Buddhism wins over Hinduism . The battle with Tibetan is not easy , it is wait and see philosophy. Time will tell. Eventually in-laws came to her door and requested to live together, what a shame. It’s like giving them a harsh slap in their face.
What an incredible story of resilience and determination! It's truly inspiring to hear how this remarkable woman overcame immense challenges to create a better life for herself and her children. Her journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of perseverance. From sleeping in her car to building successful businesses, she exemplifies courage, hard work, and compassion. Her focus on service over personal gain is admirable and speaks volumes about her character. As someone who also studied in a Tibetan Village School in India, she embodies the values of community, gratitude, and paying it forward. Her unwavering commitment to helping others is truly commendable. Thank you for sharing her story. It serves as a reminder that no matter how tough life gets, with determination and a heart full of kindness, anything is possible. 💪🌟
Didn’t realise it is an hour and half long!! Wow! Truly inspiring!
Thank you so much for this episode. It’s really heart touching and with the bless of his holiness and CTA we tibetan must proud and be grateful. Don’t loose your hope rather we should face it and overcome it.
Acha la you are most strong woman i have ever seen, i was cry alots, you are most strong mother, may god bless
The most important reason why I would decide to settle down with a Tibetan girl is the presence of compassion in their heart.

Very strong and brave lady .. if I would be in her place I wouldn’t able to do the way she handle it. So heart touching by listening it’s hard to take it how much you bear everything. Strong lady ❤❤
So far, It's my best episode of Aaha moment and it's a very tourching story that created tearfall from eyes. Deki la, our undying brave heart life story is also a source of an inspirition and an incouraging to others. And at the same time you showed a Tibetan women's courage. Tashi Deleg and may god bless you.🙏🙏🙏
I am so inspired by Deki la's story. Some people choose to destroy other people's lives for their own selfish reasons. Although they attempted everything to break her spirit, including being inhuman and exploiting her situation, they were unable to break her spirit. Imagine how traumatized her children were when they were young. Her children were her strength. I pray that God will bless all humans with the mental strength to face such challenges in life. As there are many wolves in sheep's clothing and only people who are kind like Deki la have experience such pain which she didn’t deserve. She never gave up and was persistent .. she is the best example of God only helping those who help themselves. The husband and in-law had the power to provide her with a fulfilling marriage and a happy home, but the entire family lacked basic human decency such people are takers and they are not giver and in reality such people are never happy and waste their lives being miserable. That’s their Karma. He is bipolar raised by toxic parents. Her hard work is now bearing fruit. She got a solid business and the children are with her. Sadly the husband is not in the picture because of his own doing. Had he made conscious decisions to protect and provide for his own family then relying on mother. Mother in low might have been not happy that her son brought in a wife from different race. She shouldn’t have let her son marry her if she didn’t like the idea but after marriage and giving birth to her grandchildren she should have treated her fairly and given her the respect she deserves. Instead she chose to be petty with her tibetan daughter in law. It is a good thing that most Tibetans are kind and have a strong sense of integrity, but people take advantage of it instead of valuing it. I wish Deki la all the best. Your children and you deserve every success you achieve.

The podcast I listened to was truly inspiring! It felt like a movie with a heartwarming ending after a sad story. Listening to the struggles of a brave woman and how she overcame them, I realized the true strength and power of women. We may stumble and fall, but we always get back up and keep going. I admire and respect the woman who shared her story. Her journey taught me that no matter the challenge if we have inner strength, we can conquer anything. Society may judge us, but they don't know the hardships we face. It's easy to say things, but we must remember to put ourselves in other people's shoes and understand their pain. If I ever have the chance, I would love to meet this brave woman and thank her for her courage. From one woman to another, I send my regards from Austria.
