From Birmingham New Street railway station to Manchester Piccadilly - train in the UK
Birmingham New Street railway station is the departing point in our trip to Manchester Piccadilly. We love traveling by train in the UK, especially as it's easy to handle unforeseen circumstances. (Travel vlog | 2018)
The train Birmingham to Manchester was via CrossCountry. This vlog is part of a UK travel series: • Flight to London Heath...

I like her, she goes to places not on the usual tourist runs--B'ham and M'ster for example. Also just shows the places with enthusiasm but does not pass judgement or tell us more about herself that we want to know.
for me renata I go to Wolverhampton is because I can see the remains of the site of Wolverhampton low level station which closed n 1968 due to the electrification on Wolverhampton high level

There are in fact 4 stations in Birmingham. These are Airport, New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill. The first 2 are served by trains from Euston and the latter 2 by trains from Marylebone.

"Airport" is actually still called International despite the change in name of the airport itself. And the Euston / Marylebone termini are due to the first two stations being on the West Coast Main Line and the latter two on the Chiltern route

Very clever....counting the very narrow city boundary lines of Manchester. Leeds and Birmingham basically swallowed up all their surrounding boroughs and districts. In Greater Manchester they are classed as independent boroughs but still they are part of the conurbation.

Manchester is by far the second largest city - population, GDP, development, growth. Birmingham got overtaken a long time ago.
I live in Birmingham and there is no doubt that Manchester has stolen a march by being positive and pro active. There is no way that Brum is England's 2nd city anymore and hasn't been for some 20 years. Manchester has developed so well since 1990 that many people actually have it as genuine competition for London and the fact that it was so close to getting the Olympics before London backs that up! I've been in Brum for almost 30 years and it's so slow to adapt and grow. One of the few successes in Brum was the Symphony Hall with which they did a brilliant job. There's also a handful of Michelin star restaurants which a city of 1.5 Million people absolutely should have. Manchester is well ahead in so many areas that matter to people who live in and around a city. It's definitely nothing to do with GDP. Whether it's transport, airport, live music, shopping, thriving sporting events, boxing, football, but more than anything it's the vibe in the city. You cannot buy friendliness. ps. Personally I'd also have Glasgow ahead of Brum as it's a fantastic city with even better architecture than Manchester and wonderful people, but it doesn't quite have the world wide attraction and notoriety regarding big events such as boxing and football. It's also a wee bit more isolated whereas Manchester is surrounded by big population hot spots like Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, Bolton, Stockport, Wigan, Salford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield etc

If we are talking perceptions, I'd have to agree that Manchester seems more 2nd city than Birmingham these days. I don't live in either place.

My brother in law lives in Glasgow and he says Birmingham is incredible for shops and development. Far better than Glasgow (I love Glasgow, more so than Edinburgh) And he's from south Wales. Manchester is only the 9th largest city in the UK (by population). Also people think the BBC Media City is in Manchester. It's not. It's in Salford. Man Utd Ground isn't in Manchester. It's in Trafford which isn't in Manchester. It's in Greater Manchester. Birmingham has 5 Michelin Star restaurants. Manchester doesn't have any. A lot of the bands Stone Roses, Elbow arent from the City of Manchester. Could talk about inward investment, transport links in favour of Birmingham. Birmingham doesn't shout out loud. Just gets on with it. Manchester has created a myth about itself. It's called 'Marketing'. People talk about Football. Football is cyclical. Utd are on the decline. Man City failed to get into Champions league final (& win it) and haven't won what Aston Villa have. My dad was born and raised in Manchester and always said the Mancs had a chip on their shoulders. They'd have claimed the Beatles if they could.

Hello KING COWELL. I think there is a misunderstanding. We arrived 20 minutes early not the train. Our scheduled train never departed. Our original route required us to transfer. We were lucky and were able to take a different train, with no re-ticketing or hassle, that took us direct saving us 20 minutes. Sorry for not making it clear. We did find all our train rides in the UK easy, on time and an excellent way to get around. Most importantly, thank you for watching and commenting. We appreciate help in getting our audience accurate information for their travel plans. 👍😃
