From Australia in Business Class | Melbourne to Dubai | Emirates Business Class | A380 | Trip Report
Hey everyone, it’s time to fly long haul and what better than the Emirates A380 in Business Class?! 😃
I found myself in Melbourne and while for a small moment I considered flying via elsewhere, Emirates offered a direct flight which arrives to Dubai at lunch time, which gives me more time to spend with my family.
But I find Emirates the best way to fly to/from Australia anyway, so it’s all cool!
I’m keeping his video simple as I slept most of the way and I just wished to get home. But I managed to kill enough time by eating, hanging out in the lounge and making new friends with the crew!
It is also the last video I’ll publish in EK Business Class with the service we all know as it has just been updated. Stay tuned for all that, the A350-900 and the freshly updated B777-300ER Business Class cabins! It’s going to be a great summer on Emirates 👏
Thanks a lot for being here and I hope you enjoy!
Today we are showcasing you the following flight:
From: Melbourne International Airport, Victoria, Australia
To: Dubai International Airport, Dubai, the United Arab Emirates
Flight Number: EK409
Aircraft Type: Airbus A380-800
Registration: A6-EUT
Flight Time: 13:29
Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed our video!
Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion and feedback.
Have a nice one!
You can also leave a Super Like as a tip for my work. I’ll invest it all on future trips.

The Dubai airport business class lounge is simply fantastic. Last time I was there I used the shower spa for an hour. Ate and drank for 4 hours prior to my return flight. Really helped melt the 5 hour layover away.

Thanks for another great video, hope you had a nice time in Melbourne. ☺
Thank you for a fabulous video. Your enthusiasm for EK is well founded. The food looked fantastic. The 6am Syd and Mel departures allow a late evening arrival in western Europe for a full nights sleep before the next day. A perfect cure for jet lag! Thanks again.

6:40 No that's actually a double spool up. Happens even in normal takeoffs were the weight is not as much. A feature unique to the Trent-900 & Trent-XWB.
I would love to watch your video on their upcoming 359. I have already booked their BOM-DXB-BAH route, as I have a work visit in Bahrain in December. Gulf Air would have taken me directly over there but don't want to miss the fun on the new EK product.
What a flight.... wish. I was there
Are you planning on reviewing the Pearl lounge at Zayed Intl. Airport any day? I haven't seen good reviews/videos of that lounge.
Thanks for another cool video, Alex. Maximum respect to you for managing to sleep when you have to check in for a flight. I am always nervous that the alarm might fail to go off. Yes, I heard the engine noise and thanks for highlighting it. I think that is to allow for more airflow into the engine before full thrust can take effect. I do not think Emirates is one of the pioneers of long-haul travel. Pan Am, BOAC, Lufthansa, Air France and KLM maybe because they had to fly to different parts of the world to their colonies. Emirates has taken long haul flying to another level and they are not done yet. As you age, past things "used to be better". Maybe that is true. Attend any party and one is almost sure of dancing to Kool and the Gang's "Celebrate" and "Ladies Night". Everybody loves those tracks, even kids whose parents were not yet born at the time the tracks were released. So, older definitely used to be better.
Are you planning to go on the Air India A350 between DXB and DEL? Cool if you could make a video on it😄

When I see an A380, I can't help but stop what I'm doing and watch it move through the sky. My last vacation was on Emirates business class A380 from NYC JFK to Dubai and Maldives. Before that, I went with Emirates Business Class from NYC to Dubai to Seychelles. We had to board the Emirates 777 for the second leg of the journey. Not as nice as the A380, but nice nonetheless. Emirates has made travel so delightful and luxurious, it's hard not to imagine myself on the planes I spot.
I'd love to try Emirates again - I flew both business and economy from London to Mauritius last week, and whilst their hard product is excellent, the service was awful. Crew arguing in business about who had ordered what, and the speed of service was abysmal. I've heard such great things about EK so maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I really hope they can improve their service to be in line with BA or VS who have always been friendly, attentive, and professional.
Great x
This is a lovely trend, always perfecting its beauty of videos!❤

Omg im back here to tell you again about retrofitting etc 🫢This plane u flew A6-EUT is currently being retrofitted (bc my dad is an emirates senior engineer) so u basically flew its old interior in its last moments ig
I can imagine Emirates flying 100+ Boeing 747-200B (even more than Pan Am), Boeing 747SP, and McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 if they existed in the 1970s with the route network they have today, which, I know, sounds pretty ridiculous since Emirates was actually founded in 1985 with Airbus A300 and Boeing 737 from PIA. The Boeing 747 would have dominated the DXB-LHR sectors as well as flights to Australia. Emirates would have even fitted the upper deck (hump) of their early 747s with a retro lounge, offered the finest tobacco, Cuban cigars or even hookah (which is a bit of a stretch; and the Hookah pipes would have been too big, even for a 747) to First Class passengers 🤔. Anyway, the A380 is an awesome aircraft for long haul flights (which is an understatement given that we are talking about Emirates here), despite not being economical nowadays.

I don’t think it would ever have worked out as the demand back then just wasn’t there. People were working much more back then with less holidays. I’ve thought about it too though!
