    You did a wonderful job! I was right there with you on each exit. :) Following the jump for "stability control" etc, you changed completely! Your FF body position was great, and you were under control all of the time. Your Deltas were really nice. It was really great watching you during your training. Thanks so much. m. Really enjoyed watching your progress. I was an instructor back in the early 70s. Back then there was no tandem jumping or accelerated freefall program. I find it amazing that this is offered now but I admire the processes and the well thought out instruction and safety I saw. My heart was in my throat on that one jump where you lost control and was falling back to earth but you made a great recovery and your instructors were right there. Congratulations and respect to you and your instructors. BTW I had a full streamer on jump #1. No shit. :)

    Thanks a lot Michael for your kind words of encouragement. Comments from veterans and pros mean the world to me. The fourth jump was quiet scary and it wasnt over yet. After I pulled the parachute and stabilized I was in the middle of a dense cloud. When my instructor landed he radioed me but due to the cloud interference, I could only hear a crackle. By the time I was out of the cloud, I was already too low and didnt recognize where I was. Upon further inspection, i realized I was barely 1000ft off the ground and 2kms away from the landing spot separated by the freeway and powerlines. Hence I decided to land in a patch on land owned by a factory. By the time I landed a pickup was already on its way to pick me up. Phew! That was one heck of an experience. Full Streamer, Damn must have been scary, that too on your first jump. Thank You once again for your kind words. Blue Skies

    On that first jump an automatic opening device opened my reserve at about 500’. To top it off I landed in a tree in the forest and had to wait a half hour as I was suspended 20’ off the ground. It took them a while to find me. I was so scared on my second jump that day that I was literally shaking and still can’t believe I went up again. It’s an amazing sport in the most alien environment on earth. I’m glad I experienced it.

    The first few days will be ground school where it will be a lot of theory and concepts followed by a written exam and a few maneuvers on the ground simulating what you'll be doing in the sky. After that each jump is an exam jump as shown in the video to get your AFF certification. After that you start accumulating jumps to get different USPA licenses. A=25 jumps , B=50, C=100 and D=500 jumps

    Srikanth, after aff.. You get your A license (25 jumps +other requirements) , B license (50), C (100), D (500). It doesn't matter which dz you do from as long as it's certified to to take USPA exams.

    +Rewat Tuladhar . Hey there! Im interested to work in a dropzone or in a skydiving centre . Will an AFF cert allow me to work in a dropzone? as a parachute packer maybe . I did a tandem once and i cant wait to go again . Looking forward to your reply!

    I have been searching lot around it. Go tandem first or jump right into a pro course? Do it where? What can we make out of being a licensed skydiver out of India? Could you pls help me answer a few of the many questions I have. Please!!!

  • @therewat

    @therewat

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi, You could do a tandem first to get a feel of jumping out of the plane. For me, I went directly into solo. I dont think you can do it in India. The closest will be in Dubai or Thailand. In India, being a licensed skydiver have very little scope as a career as there is no all year dropzone.

  • @hellopaji89

    @hellopaji89

    @@therewat Thanks first of all for your response. Get it. Tandem first and if you get hooked spend the extra ton. But let's say you did get a license and thr was an all year dropzone. Do you get to make a living out of pursuing the sport. Or it's just for u to do cheap jumps eventually since u have the license? I feel that India may not have a all year dropzone today but that should be changing soon. So being a licensed driver makes it easy and cheap for u to do it anywhere in the world? Or it also opens up possibly that if you go all in you can make a decent living out of it? Since you are a licensed driver now (v proudly) What does it return back? If your out of India, and even if in it right now.

  • @therewat

    @therewat

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@hellopaji89 Yes making a living is possible from this sport. You are mostly paid on the number of jumps you do (tandem or as an instructor) and I guess it differs from different dropzones. I did it without any intention of making it a career. It was something that i wanted to do and continue doing on my own. Yes having a license makes it easy to go to any dz in the world and jump.

  • @hellopaji89

    @hellopaji89

    @@therewat Even I want to do it for my own or atleast that's what I plan ryt now. But sometimes u just get hooked to a thing so much, you don't want to do anything else. In which case getting paid for what you love to do pays the bills. So far I know that it's an expensive road to be at. Starting with the license and then your gears and the chutes etc.. etc.. A day job may not always make the cut for all of it. So knowing that there's enough reward incase one commits to it full time is a sigh of relief. I am really glad for u to have done it for the love of it. Have you been jumping lately as much after the license?
