"You need to look busy" because that's how people notice you... As a teenager running a home bakery, I never thought about this! I always assumed I only needed to post when I got orders (which had only been a handful of times this month and a 1/2 I've been open)
I’m using these tips to help my bakery business grow. I’ve always loved baking as a child and I’m 16 now. I really see myself doing this long term

Another tip would be to redecorate the same base cake that you just keep in the freezer
Making goodies for family/neighbors/friends is a big one to help you to grow and get content. That is something I just started doing and I actually bake snacks for my co-workers to get their feedback.

I love baking so much, i bake and cook all my food for my family, including homemade bread and greek yogurt etc. I looked into selling my stuff because i frequently give it away, might as well make some money. The law's in my country selling food out of the home are so incredibly strict :( its a dream that ill never get to achieve unfortunately

This is amazing! I always find your videos so informative and REAL! I am going to use all your strategies. I just recently started an Instagram account and haven’t been on Facebook in over 10 years. But I think it’s time to reappear but this time with my Home Business Dulceria Pacheco. Which is mostly lollipops, chocolate treats, bombs. Thank you so much for this video! I am having the hardest time with some thing. I could totally dominate my areas market, but I can’t seem to come up with a menu item that I know I can do for sure and that is easy. I’ve heard other people say stick with one thing. I’m considering making a seasonal menu of a few items and then changing it up based on the season and offering other items on a custom order basis. So I’m wondering how you decided on what your menu items would be. I’m sure you have a video for it so I’ll go look for it. My only other question is, if I’ve never actually taken pictures of anything I did before and I’m literally starting from nothing with social media. How do I come up with as many pictures as possible or some pictures to use on my website and social media and that sort of thing? That’s the biggest issue for me is that I don’t really have examples that I can show, but I do know things that I can make for sure.
I live in Houston...will this hold up in hot humid weather....and if so, will it allow me to put flowers or other decorations on the sides without them sliding down? Anxious to try this...getting back into business after many years and so much has changed... experimenting on people I work with like you did with family and friends to see what they like, and to improve my decorating skills... was in business in Los Angeles for 15 years...made lots of wedding and party cakes but used a doctored up Wilton recipe using Crisco...Crisco ruined their shortening for at least my recipe and am looking for something wonderful to work with. Thanks for sharing.
Ug I’ve been doing this off and on since 2015. I’ve moved a lot so that hasn’t helped. I’ve been in my forever home for a few years now but I just can’t seem to stay busy with cakes, I know I’m good at what I do but I’m so bad at marketing and what not. Gonna try markets, I hope that helps…

what do you do if you get more orders when you start out then you can make?

Figure out how long it takes you to make a.cake and realistically see how many you can do per week - remember to factor in when the orders are due, (as you may not be able to do 3 over the same days but may be able to do 3 a week if spaced out.) Once you know how many orders you can do a week, keep a track and turn down orders once you've reached your limit. Being too busy to accept orders ISNT a bad thing. I've know people order cakes months in advance because they wanted to ensure they got a particular baker.

@@TheStationBakery so when I go in personal groups like mom groups , I have to comment as me , I am not sure how I can comment as my business name . I am thinking join the mom groups under my business name but do not see an option for that .
How do I market a business that is exclusively for gluten-free/customers where my former customers no longer patronize because they are not gluten-free. If they just gave it a chance they would realize that there is not a difference in taste or texture since I have mastered converting these recipes. I was diagnosed with celiac disease three years ago and couldn’t figure out why every time I bake with gluten containing ingredients I was breaking out but I learned the hard way. Please help maybe follow me or even direct some people to my website! Thank you for leaving some wonderful tips for those of us who have home based businesses!
