I got a frog for $1.96 at Walmart. Got a few hits the first day but couldn’t set the hook. Next day I waited a second when he took it and then WHAM! I set that hook and went to war. I was certain the line was going to break but I got him! 5 pounder. 22inches long. Great lure!

Also trim one side of the legs shorter 1/4” than the other it will help walk the dog. Also, bend the hooks ever so slightly up to get better hook sets

WHAT!? I was bass fishing off my dock and my lake is super weedy so I was using the frog lure. I've never fished with one and had a "general" idea of how to use it but I didn't know a lot. So today I got a total of 3 bites and the mere second I felt a pull, I just jerked a little bit and then started reeling in. Next time I'll wait a minute, jerk REALLY HARD, and then start reeling. Hopefully, that'll give me better luck on catching something. I've never caught a bass before so I'm learning ha.

Personally I cutt 1 side of the frogs strings or legs you can say..about half way and it gives it a walk like look when fishing seem to help quite a bit. The other side of the legs stay only if u try cutting 1 side of the legs/strings will give a walk like look

A trick I use with my hollow-bodied frogs is to 'tune' the hooks by using pliers to bend the hooks upward about 25°. This keeps the hooks from pressing against the body of the frog, and increases my hook set probability considerably, all while keeping the frog weedless.

Yay at my grandpa witch was at the lake there was a spot that had a tree and there was a HUGE fish living there at least a 4 pounds and it was so big that it dragged my frog right into the weed and all I got out of it was a huge chunk of sea weed I also caught like a 2 pound bass but right when I got it to the sea wall it got unhooked so I lost two fish😅

Only throw a frog on braid, heavy braid. Anything else and you’ll either not get the hook in them good or you won’t land them at all or both.

A lot of companies make great frogs, so it comes down to personal preference mostly. I will say if you want more bites and better hook ups, try a Google Squad mini filthy frog! They still cast easily but get bit way more since they are smaller

Yeah I’ve experienced the same thing. I think it depends on you work your frog too. I think they hit it harder if you are working the frog faster. Normally when I’m slowly popping it the bass will just come up and suck it in.
