Fringe Season 1
Fringe is a television series that deals with a research scientist named Walter Bishop (who Orci describes as "Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein"), his son, and a female FBI agent who brings them back together.
Episode 19 The Road Not Taken
Olivia experiences "awake dreams," seeing elaborate visions of things not really there. While investigating a disturbing case of a woman who apparently spontaneously combusted, Olivia throws caution to the wind and explores her unexplained visions further. Meanwhile, Walter discusses key information about the Z.F.T. manifesto, and Peter reveals a secret that yields unexpected results in the case.

If you haven't noticed at this point, the observer is actually in every episode. Even if it's just some cameo walking past in the background!

This episode and the next one were the ones that took me from going back and forth on Fringe to being a diehard fan of the show, which is now my favorite series of all time. They're so incredible, and just a taste of all the amazing to come. I'm so happy you are reacting to it; it's so much fun to watch people see Fringe for the first time, because it's impossible to see the twists, and it's also such an emotionally satisfying show. I wanted to say you're very good at noticing and calling some of the deeper themes of the show, especially I've liked your observations on Walter's experiments on children and how deeply wrong they are, but his inability to see beyond the experiment of the moment. Walter Bishop is maybe the worst person I have ever loved. John Noble's performance is a study in excellence. I think you must not have followed what they were saying about Olivia, because for once, it is flat-out stated, when she's seeing the two dead bodies or hearing about them, she's getting a glimpse into another reality where both the girls died together. That's where Charlie has the scar and the city is on fire. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the next episode! Fringe has some of the best season finales ever, both in terms of watching them at the time, and in follow-through the next season.

I’m with you. Up until this episode, I was trying to get into it because I was told it was good, but I constantly found myself scrolling on my phone while I watched. From this episode on, i was glued to the tv.

This episode was satisfying on so many levels. Harris is GONE! And by his own actions, which makes it all the sweeter. I felt bad for Walter when Olivia confronted him, but I mean... can you really blame her? Looking forward to your next Fringe reaction! Amazing video, as always.

All those years ago I was waiting to watch on another show which got pre-empted for this. This was my first episode of Fringe and it hooked me instantaneously.

Don't forget about episode 11 of season 2. As i mentioned it was produced during season 1 and technically takes place during season 1. So to avoid confusion watch it before the end of season 1. It might be a bit difficult to fit it in consider we're so close to the end. Actually now that i think about it. Its going to be impossible to fit it in because episode 20 is the season finale.

Nancy lighting up Harris is endlessly satisfying. Every time I'm just like yes give him what he deserves.

PYROKENESIS: Right on, King´s novel was based on some elder Science Fiction work and some studies in paranormal investigations. As said before in one of your later great reviews, back in the Fifiies and even early Sixties there were some serious government studies going on about the Military options of potential psychics and the PYROKENESIS was just one of those study fields.
