That’s not true. She was impressed by the gift he got for her birthday and started to have feelings for him then. And she remembered that he had hinted at asking her about before. So she spent the entire time while he was away in China thinking about being with him. Returning with Julie came as a big surprise and she couldn’t get over it that easily. There was a lot of history there. Remember he had told her he had a big crush on her in high school and her response was that she knew. So her own feelings caught up with his, only at the wrong time.

I watched this show since the first episode aired on TV, I bought and built both LEGO F.R.I.E.N.D.S sets and I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I visited the recreated sets at F.R.I.E.N.D.S Fest, so to say I'm a super-fan wouldn't be too much of a stretch. So how on earth is this the FIRST time I've ever seen the beginning of this scene?! Phoebe is hilarious 😂 Makes me wonder what other parts have been cut out in the episodes available in my country.

"Who gave her our telephone number?" - I've never heard that part before and I've seen this episode many times. They must've edited out in the UK for some strange reason. And the "Do you wanna hit Chandler again?" pretty wasn't in the version I saw either. They edit out other stuff too, anytime anyone says "B1tch" it's chopped out.
