If this is in south India, majority of people are vegetarian. Shit, didn't some law get passed in India banning beef slaughtering?? That's a debatable issue...but south India is beautiful culturally. Kerala is one of the birthplaces of yoga, at least ashtanga style. Also Ayurveda is heavily practiced there, which is the sister science to yoga. Focused on plant-based wellness. So they definitely hold esteem for animals and the natural world. Granted, not EVERY state in India is veg-dominant; places with more Muslims, or Christians, Jewish, or Chinese communities eat certain meats. Some possible examples are Kashmir/Jammu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa... even Mumbai & Delhi have their meat eaters. In northeastern states like Assam, Nagaland, or Tripura, many tribal groups hunt wild game... so def not vegetarian, lol. Buuut I'm fairly sure that Kerala is. Even the meat-eating populations in India eat a veg-friendly diet and are aware of the natural world, so...not everyone is going to kill a friendly deer.

The regular presence of such an animal will draw the attention of predators to the area and will result in Human Animal Conflict. Also, feeding animals will disable their ability to look for natural food. If once the feeding source is stopped, it will result in starvation. Moreover, Human food is not advisable for animals, as the requirements of body differs. Many animals approach us food when we use to be in jungle and I discourage giving them human food.

The location where the video is taken is an evergreen area where, plenty of grass and natural food is available for the deer. Also close by is a river, which has plenty of water too. If we feed the deer, it will affect it’s overall food habits and will look ahead for easy food from villagers. Also, it’s presence can draw attention of predators to the area, which can result in Human Animal Conflict.
