and it isn't. Those guys need a lot of caring, including a personnal space to swim, a special enclosure, a special dial, they need a controlled temperature (including heating lamps), they need continuous stuff to chew or else they will chew on your house, etc, etc... Oh and they easily weight 200 pounds and are hard to train, while unlikely, they can bite, and that bite can break bones...

A message to the owners of these capybaras: please take good care of these lovely, harmless creatures, bear in mind they're mainly in the great plains of South America, hot and humid regions all year long, and don't tolerate well the chill weather , they even can die if exposed to low temperatures for long, in the wild they are never exposed to temperatures under 65 Farenheit - 18 Celsius

Never met or experience a Capybara. I believe they are regarded as the most social and friendly animal in the world, even more than horses and dogs.
