But we believe strongly in mutually assured destruction. we will rain a hell down on Kim Jong Un that would scare the shit out of satin himself. remember Hiroshima? Nagasaki? we only did it because talks weren't working. Kim seems to be going down the same road as Japan in ww2. I forgot to ask... what country are you in? did you defect to South Korea?

Note that summer is coming. The performance of many precision guided weapon is better with good visibility and limited cloud cover. The air power is also more effective in the Korean summer for bombing and ground support. These are important factors to the military planners.

While working on one of my Ph.D's at LSU I had the opportunity to work on a project directed by Dr. Friedman who was located at LSU at the time. While never interfacing with him directly, his reputation there was stellar, justifiably so as can be seen in this video. For some reason(s) unbeknownst to me, the administration of LSU was not fond of Dr. Friedman. In their usual lack of competence they appeared to offer little support and as time passed I could even detect some degree of hostility emerging. Finally the good Doctor took his operation elsewhere (UT Austin I believe), and LSU botched another golden opportunity to bring the university into the forefront of academia. This is a great example of why LSU will always be a second rate university led by third rate buffoons.

This is the most sensible and realistic treatment of the subject I have heard to date. I was a boy during the Cuban missile crisis. I was in New Orleans. The Port of New Orleans was thought to be a primary target. We stocked food and water. We had air raid drills. The government did not prepare us for no reason. Had Castro not rid himself of Russian weapons, it would have been on. Castro and the Russians backed down, believing that Kennedy would resort to thermonuclear warfare. Kim, I believe, will not back down. The losses in the best scenario will be unthinkable, but to let Kim deliver a nuke on the US or a territory or an ally is even more unthinkable. See the images of Nagasaki and of Hiroshima after a nuclear attack. The pictures tell the story.

The story I heard was that in the first Korean war Kim jon song ( or whoever) asked Stalin if he could invade the south , The reply was , "ask Mao", but Kim lied to Mao saying Stalin agreed to war and so it began . I dont know if this is true , but the point is that in any ensuing conflict permission must come from China , Kim Jon Un wont go it alone , since he cant beat the USA +S.Korea+Japan . Nor would he like to inherit a destroyed South if its nuked , but china wont mind the elimination of South Korean competition , but not if it will incur the wrath of the rest of the world . Result, stalemate.

Still, in hind sight of what's happened since this particular interview.... the President has not, and likely will not, go beyond a strong show of force..... As the saying goes: " Showing enough force, means one will seldom have to use it".... Lets hope this holds true with North Korea.

Graham Allison, the scholar who coined the phrase "Thucydides Trap", could his prophecy turn out to be true this time, triggered by the North Korean Nuclear Crisis? Although China and US have limited cooperation in curbing the DPRK nuclear test, and Donald Trump said he'd exercise restrain in case the war between US and DPRK breaks out, without crossing the 38th Parallel North, it would be hard to imaging that South Korea would not take this opportunity to cross the line and annex the north and realize the unification dream.

I can't believe so many people want war. Have they not learned from the past lessons, how many more need to die. If people want war then they should join the army and send their own children in not others, and then maybe they will think twice about going to war. Remember every life matters. Say no to war and yes to peace. This is the best and happy way to live imo.

I've never been one for religion, but I have studied religion in the past. I'll believe it when Damascus is a heaping pile of rubble with no residents. Interestingly enough though, when Trump unchained the military, they still have to get his permission for many things, and apparently they keep coming to him with battle plans to take out ISIS and Assad at the same time, and he keeps telling them no. If anyone had an idea in their head that Trump wanted WW3, then that is proof in itself that he is trying everything he can to avoid it. If this unrelenting hate from the Democrats doesn't stop, and they actually manage to assassinate or impeach Trump, Mike Pence will 100% let the military strike Damascus, which is guaranteed war with Russia, Iran, China, etc. Basically the real war to end all wars, because it only takes a little over 100 modern nukes going off in a period of 24 hours to send the world into nuclear winter, and there are thousands on standby, with thousands more in storage around the world. Russia has well over a thousand ICBMs on active duty and an automatic dead man switch that cannot be overridden once initiated. It's an automated array of sensors designed to launch their entire arsenal at once if a nuclear detonation is detected on Russian soil. Lockheed Martin has been working hard for quite a while now on hypersonic solid tungsten steel kinetic warheads designed to decimate Russian nuclear silos and bunkers with the same energy of a small nuclear bomb but no radiation, thus no dead man switch activation. China has been working on this too but their missiles don't travel even a 3rd the speed of ours. Ours can strike anywhere in the world in 15 minutes or less with surgical precision.

Attacking NK would make an enemy out of the people ... instead we should do a "Man in the High Castle" operation. 10 million DVD's with removable foam edges dropped from drones in the stratosphere. should have dozens of different DVDs, each numbered so they'll be like "gotta catch them all". Then when the people are ready for us to topple their leadership ... then and only then should we do what we can to help *them* do it, not take that right out of their own hands.

We could bring the leaders of N. Korea gifts and a huge "Air Force One" type airliner. We could send a REAL peace envoy. We could try a simple settlement and give whatever they and their people need repeatedly until they understand we are not the awful enemy they have been programmed to think we are. We could spend time and money doing that - peace to N. Korea and its people! We love them and S. Korea as brothers and cousins!

American corporate based capitalism will eat democracy. Let be united from the East & West for the sake of democracy. Lets work together for the survival of true democracy.

Apparently Kim is now so paranoid after the death of Otto, that he never shows himself in public and the only vehicles he rides in are regular cars and trucks so he blends in. And he never travels during the day, only at night. He is shitting his pants because he thinks he is going to end up like Bin Laden, who by the way was promptly canoed by the seals that killed him. if you don't know what that means, it's basically when you shoot someone in the head at a certain angle that it splits the top of their head wide open, making it look like a canoe ran over their head. I've seen the photo, and I loved it.

한국에 있는 미국 시민권자들은 어떻게 대피시킬 건가? 대피시킨 후 그들을 보호할 시설은 있나? 한국에 있는 서방 자본들의 손해를 감당할 수 있나?
