thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate it. I feel your frustration. When i was looking at schools I could never find any really good “day in a life” videos. I’m glad my version resonated with you!

this is the best utah day in the life video by far! how often do you get to the mountains? are you a part of the ski/snowboard club? do you know anything about the honors college community? it's so hard getting a gage of schools this year during corona so thank you for this!

Thanks for the comment! Last season i tried to get up at least twice a week, but i knew people who would go 4-5 times a week. (they had they’re own car, which helps a lot. There’s public transportation to get there, but it’s a long bus ride and there’s a transfer, so I was never a fan). I was part of our OneLove club, but it’s basically the same as Free Skier Society. They’re great for getting discounts for ski passes to all the resorts. I don’t know much about the honors community, other than the dorms are SUPER nice and everyone I have met or interacted with from it have been super nice and fun to hang out with. It’s definitely been a tough year with Covid and all, but I really think the perks of the U, with its proximity to the mountains, as well as its developing programs, makes it a great place to go to college, and I still strongly recommend (even during covid)

great video! I’m thinking about transferring to univ of Utah as a 2nd year in the fall. I love skiing, rock climbing, hiking and pretty much anything outdoors. I had a couple of questions about the school. How many 2nd years live in the dorms since I’m planning on living on campus? Can I park my car if I’m from out of state on campus or are there parking passes? How far is the closest ski area from the campus? Was it hard to make friends/find a group? What type of people would you say go to Utah??

Hey emily! Sorry for the late reply, but i’ll still try and help out as much as possible. First off glad to hear your considering the U! It’s a really awesome school and I think you will really like it. I’m not entirely sure how many 2nd years live on campus but there is definitely a fair amount. There’s like a separate section in the housing areas for the upper class-men,. You can park your car on campus, you just need to buy a parking pass. It’ll get you access to the dorm parking lots and the student lots all around campus. Campus police are super strict about parking so you gotta make sure you have a pass, otherwise you will wrack up tickets. Solitude or Park City are the closest resorts at around 30 minutes no traffic and an hour to an hour and a half with traffic. But there are 6 resorts within 30 minutes when there’s no traffic. Put simply, there are tons of world class resorts like in your back yard, it’s great. I’d say it wasn’t that hard to find friends, if you put yourself out there and go to events or clubs you will find a group pretty quick. I’d say there’s definitely a mix of people here, but your going to find a large majority are super outdoorsy people who are interested in everything you like.

I really like the school. There’s so much to do in utah and i feel like i’m getting a really solid education. Regarding price, it’s definitely cheaper than most options that I looked at for school. I’m originally from California so I was able to get WUE (wester undergrad exchange). It’s basically a scholarship that gives students from a list of 14 west coast states, instant tuition x1.5. That made the school super affordable for me

@@spencerschwarz958 awesome, thanks! One more question... when I was just looking at the UofU stats, it says there’s only a 29% graduation rate after 4 years, do you know why that’s so low? I know the schools gone through a lot of renovation recently, so maybe there just hasn’t been enough time for the numbers to accurately reflect the new programs?
