Friday Sessions #26 // "Gold Dust Woman" (cover) featuring Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra
Музыка
We had the pleasure of teaming up with the wonderful folks of @Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra for this week’s Friday Session! They're such an awesome bunch! It was heaps of fun playing this cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman” bluegrass style, at the awesome bar Krøsset in Oslo. Filmed by Nikolai Grasaasen.
Enjoy! And please subscribe!

it's nice to see the singers smile and also the players one in particular. idk if musicians smile that much when they make music generally?

I thought they were Swedish ,,,,,,,,NORWAY is the place they are from ,,,,,,,,,magical ,,,,,,Norway gave us the vikings ,they are super at getting oil from the North Sea , hardy fishermen , and a brave country fighting the nazi influx during the war , nobody fought like the super brave people of that great nation ,,,,,,,,,and then you give us these talented group of lads and lassies called the hayde bluegrass orchestra , are there no end to Norwegian talent like this ,,,,,,,Sweden had ABBA and Norway has come back with this band to even the score a little .y
Veldig cool!!!!

FANTASTISK! Takk! God helg!

How did you find me? Destrotoyed.
The feelings I get from this cover are stronger than any I recalled from listening to FM and Stevie for >40 years. Real? I just listened to eight versions, the Rumours original and seven live performances through 2004 (professionally recorded and mixed). Even on the original, compared to this performance, it sounds like Stevie is phoning it in. Her phrasing and emphasis is monochromatic -- like she's reading off a teleprompter. In later years, she is swallowing words. The poignant, pathetic description of the icy soul I hear in this cover is absent in Stevie's renditions. The lack of emotion in Stevie's versions is likely why the song never struck me before this version. Rock on DW / HBO.

@@DarlingWest Another version of GDW by FM popped on a playlist to which I was listening. What first caught my attention was Mick Fleetwood was on cow bell, someone else on drums (kid you not, cow bell...). And then Stevie begins to sing, and once again, flat and lifeless. I had to come back here and listen to the perfect rendition of the song.
