I grew up in Harlem but I fell in love with the Lower East Side when I started working down there for the NYC Dept of Parks back in 1979-81 I love its rich culture and the lifestyle of the LES, I was working on Madison & Jefferson Street for those who know that area then I worked in Tompkins Square Park a very huge beautiful Square Park, its nothing like the LES.
Never a dull moment in New York lol as you say I'm walking here 🤣 😅

I live not far from all of this and crossing East Houston Street has become a nightmare at every corner, as you say, even with the light. The bicycles don’t stop and sometimes the cars don’t either 😳

Essex Market looks modern and hip, and it's an upgrade compared to their old location. It was neat to see the food vendors in there. 😎 Lower East Side and East Village were lively on a Friday night, and it was nice to see all the local restaurants and businesses.
