Friday Gems: To Migrate (Make Hijrah) or Not? | Hassan Lachheb & Senan Hafez

Friday Gems: To Migrate (Make Hijrah) or Not? | Shaykh Hassan Lachheb & Qari Senan Hafez
The program begins with a recitation of Surat al-Kahf by Qari Senan Hafez.
“Should I leave America? Should I take my family and move to a Muslim-majority country?”
Perhaps this thought has crossed your mind recently…
With America’s role in what’s happening overseas, especially in Palestine + the state of American society socially and politically (and whether it’s an ideal place to raise a family) + with arguably the most polarizing elections ever coming up in a few months… it begs the questions: Should we stick around? Or should we have a migration plan in place? Is this something we should even consider?
The month of Muharram is about to begin. It’s the month in which the Prophet ﷺ and his companions migrated (did hijrah) from Mecca to Medina to escape persecution. What lessons can we learn from their migration for our own circumstances today? That’s what Sh. Hassan Lachheb will cover this Friday Gems, insha’Allah.

May Allah SWT bless both Qari Senan Hafez and Sheikh Hassan Lachheb. One of the most beautiful recitations I have heard SubhanAllah

As a Native American Indian I could never leave MY country, instead I stay and try to fix it. There is also many ways to avoid paying taxes.

Many disturbing claims made here: 1. Muhajireen are doing it for "ease." 2. Muhajireen to morocco don't work to improve the lives of their new communities. (This is slander) 3. America is the best place in the world to make a prophetic community? (As though it is better than a village in any muslim country, and better than a place like new zealand with more just foreign policy; and better than Afghanistan or Malaysia or Indonesia; better than madinah and mecca) More slander but against communities. 4. Introducing suspicion at the entire concept of hijrah and the modern muhajireen.
