@@user-wo1md1ql2c they were together for 11 years. It is said Benny had troubles with alcohol and temper. Frida struggled with depression. She led a hard life. She was a lebensborn child and could never deal with that and was introverted and lonley. she lost many people in her life. The touring took a toll too on both couples. My opinion is that Benny wanted children and Frida had 2 with her first husband and didn't. Benny and the woman he left her for had 3 kids right away.

Things are not always what they seem. People have the idea that Benny and Frida were perfect for each other. They want a fairy tale of love that they want it to last forever. They imagine it to be that way. But human beings are real. People really do grow apart sometimes, and grow toward other people. What I find heartening is that they have loved and respected each other, and they have remained friends. I think that is what impresses me the most about both of them. That and their ability to accept and become friends with the people for whom they went their separate ways.

ABBA has once again taken over America and the World ❤️❤️❤️❤️. To see all four members at the Hall of Fame displaying the new Voyage album, would be a site for sore eyes. 🤗 Thank you for this greatly appreciated invasion into our hearts. Just hearing all four of them talk and sing is a complete joy. They gave us so much of themselves and now they give us Voyage. Thank you.

Living together and working together is very hard. I worked with my husband and left after 20 years. Luckily we got back together until he did 4 years ago

Wish they could have lasted forever!!!

I was born in 1976 and as a child I didn't have access to records and the first songs I heard by the ABBA group were Fernando and I Have a Dream, which made me instantly fall in love with Frida's voice and I had no idea who was singing. Then with Chiquitita, Guime Guime Guime and The Winner takes it all I discovered that they had another woman, with an equally beautiful voice (Agnetha).

Beautiful video capturing all the sweet, romantic moments between Benny and Frida. Growing up in the 70’s it was an innocent time! Later you read about each couples struggles within their respective relationships in ABBA. The most insightful things I’ve read in regards to the split between Benny and Frida is in Carl Magnus Palm’s book “Bright Lights, Dark Shadows”. As fans, let’s just celebrate the beautiful music all four created which will be enjoyed by successive generations to come. We retain the memories of love and fun in our hearts.. Also, at the time of writing, ABBA will be releasing new material (delayed, as with the virtual tour), but let’s hope it will be released in 2021! Love, peace & respect to all ABBA fans across the world! 💕💕

It's so sad that Frida had to go through this breakup, and we all know what a difficult path she had to go through after it, but she's smart! Since childhood, since the very 76th year, when I was only 8, and for the first time I heard an unforgettable, such a painful SOS on Radio Luxembourg, I love this unique group with all my soul, these amazing, insanely dear people who gave the world not only beautiful music, but also an amazing feeling happiness - TO LIVE and LOVE truly! They are like members of some higher community, where we are all united in our vibrations and in our highest qualities, and each of them is so unique and incredibly dear! And I know for sure that there are no hard feelings between them today, they have grown over themselves and their past. Incredibly glad that we got together again for the last chord, no matter what!

Sometimes things happen to people that you cannot believe they don’t think they can lose their way but it hurts to watch it happen.🚥🚥😂🤣

According to the only biography we have, until someone in the group (Frida has hinted) writes her/his autobiography, what has been written is that Frida had issues with depression and that's always difficult for both parties in a relationship-- the one with depression doesn't WANT to bring misery to his/her partner but they can't help it -- or hide it when it takes them down. I think like many highly talented people she was high strung, moody and temperamental -- and a driven perfectionist. She didn't have an easy past filled with the security and warmth that Benny grew up with. Compared to her family circumstances, he was comfortably off growing up-- encouraged in his music, supported and loved, whereas she was lonely and had to go out and earn money at a very early age-- her parentage was confusing and hurtful. After Frida's very young mother Sinny died, her granny took her at the age of 2 to Sweden to escape the misery and torture inflicted on children of German soldiers in Norway after the war. Frida married before she was ready because that's what most women did in those years-- plus loneliness, financial hardship. When she realized she had a real chance as a singer, she was torn between the marriage and family and her inner driving passion to perform-- then when she tried to really break into music she was vilified and accused of abandoning her family-- something a man would never have been accused of. I can't imagine the inner conflict she must have had, not even knowing then she would become a superstar, but just feeling there was SOMETHING in her future if she just worked for it. Then ABBA's overwhelming rise to superstardom-- all that hard work and stress of learning all those songs in a language not her own-- being away from her kids-- the kids having issues being from a broken home-- Jesus! Benny was also a workaholic, and later an alcoholic, so it was bound to fall apart between them, despite the real love they started out with. Apparently she got pretty volatile and lashed out at him and he felt he couldn't handle it anymore... But I doubt someone as driven as he was would have been that easy to live with either. So would anyone like to suggest she should have stayed at home and killed every dream inside her in order to give up her life and live as a shell and only for her kids? Do you think the kids would have turned out any better with a severely depressed mother who resented giving up her God-given gift? And the millions of people whose lives she has touched-- and in some cases, literally saved (would-be suicides) -- what a gift she-- and ABBA have given us. Their songs got my 2 year-old severely autistic mute sister out of her own world and got her to smile and dance. So Thank-You and bless you, Anni-Frid Lyngstad for that invaluable gift. I'm just sorry it ended up costing you so dearly.

What a wonderful comment! I bet lots of people commenting here don't know that much about Frida's troubled past - and the things a difficult childhood can do. In fact, in the end, all of Abba have paid a huge price for their fame, particularly the women.

For sure her children would have been more unhappy had she stayed with her family, berried her dreams and being severely depressed. Not to mention the enormous loss for the world ! There would have been no ABBA, because no one else but Frida's voice was destined to complement Agnetta's in that angelic way.

A very interesting analysis, Wanda. I think you are correct about much of it. Plus Frida was unjustly demeaned by Agnetha fanatics. Frida was every bit as beautiful and talented, yet often relegated to secondary status in the shadow of blonde Agnetha. For a beautiful, award winning singer with professional training and previous success, this must have gone down hard, yet she rarely complained. In later years, ABBA fans better understood her huge contribution to the success of the group. Today, thanks to the Internet and KZread, she is generally considered on an equal par with Agnetha. As for her relationship with Benny, I believe he was the truest love of her life: in many respects the dominant father-figure she missed in real life. Then, in later years, she would encounter both good and difficult times. Coming from a troubleome early background, she struggled for success and had to make many difficult decisions in her life, some of which I think she regretted. But those who know her best have always noted her extreme kindness and philanthropic nature. I think she is an exceptional person by any measure. She easily could be the subject of a movie.

She absolutely adored him...the breakup left her in turmoil and extreme depression. It was the end of ABBA..until now...they are reunited and friend. The lovely Frida now a princess ..and the love of her life was Benny....Benny was such a jovial bubbly person and he comes across now as the opposite..I adore Frida , and Abba...love them all ..

Yes, he was so easygoing and relaxed with her, and even if she was furious in some moments of their crasy touring life it's only naturall.. everyone can understand it - she's a WOMAN at last! )) And it's true, she was just killed when he left her... but it seems to me it just make her stronger and I so regret about it, but it's her uniqe way and we love her a lot, because it is ANNI-FRID
