Fr. Chris, thank you for the brilliant explanation about the red, white and blue martyrdom and the life of a martyr who is a true witness of the Catholic faith. I believe that martyrdom is frightening to those who are not ready for it, but to those who desire it , every moment is a chance and a blessing to offer to Jesus. He is our greatest hope to accompany us in our earthly journey and our model in accomplishing the Father’s will. Without Him, life would not be easy to live and our daily martyrdom would become burdensome. We must humbly fix our gaze in Jesus, that someday we’ll experience the glory of the Saints in heaven, who found joy in their sufferings while on earth.

While still on earth, everyone who is now in heaven has suffered so much in different degrees according to their strength. Indeed, we all know your passion for the truth Fr. Chris and we also know that while the other social ills are well publicised, Catholiphobia, does not have a predominant niche in the media While Americans are not put to death in our country for being Catholics, we do witness the desecration of our holy sites and mockery of our precious faith. God Bless you and all the Marians and clergy. Amazing Homily, keep up the good work! In New York City in the 1800’s Catholic Churches had to be guarded with shotguns because they were being burned. The Bishop had to go to the mayor and tell him if one more Catholic Church is harmed New York will burn like Moscow. Obviously Moscow had a bad fire back then, but it worked. Thank you for mentioning the plague. I asked my siblings during Covid, if we can’t go to Mass on Easter why do we have to go on an ordinary Sunday ? What are they afraid of ? Mother Theresa wasn’t afraid of sick people and The Pope shouldn’t be either.

Fr Chris, WOW, I didn't know this about the persecution in this country and for centuries. That is so upsetting. Dachau, yes, I've been there, and it is incredibly sad. I am glad that I went and was fortunate to be at the MASS Father Chris referenced in the homily today, but I don’t think I ever want to visit another concentration camp. @@alwaysmisskaryn Thanks Karyn. Yeah, I have the opportunity to go on pilgrimage next spring and see Auschwitz, but I just can't do it. I am a former school teacher and taught several novels over the holocaust and even had a holocaust survivor come to the school to speak to the children. It's too awful. I'm glad you had the opportunity to attend that mass. I know you are a strong devotee of the Marian Fathers and think you may live close to the shrine. I am in NE GA so have to just attend all activities online. Maybe one day I can come up there on pilgrimage. May God bless you and your family as well!

@@diannkelley3481 well I did live in Massachusetts until 11 1/2 months ago but living in Florida does not stop me from going to the shrine. It’s a very easy trip because it’s near the Albany airport and there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels in the area. Since moving, I have already been there twice, and plan to visit again next month during Marian week. I see you are also a devotee of The Marian Fathers. my story is this: I was a Sunday Catholic (Fr Chris) and I met Fr Chris during a Parish Mission on the West Coast of Florida, which was a fluke because I always vacation on the East coast, and now I’m a strongly convinced Catholic,(Fr Mark). Lots of flights from Atlanta to Albany so I would encourage you if possible to make the trip there it’s beautiful anytime of year.

Great homily fr Chris. Our churches were closed for a while during Covid but my priest broke the British law by allowing us to come to confession during lockdown. Im guessing if there is another lock down you will not refuse anyone confession, right!

I found out after the pandemic ended that there actually was a . churchwho underground administered the sacraments, including baptism and matrimony to some dear friends of mine and continue to celebrate the TLM on the downlow. I wish I had known that then.
