FRESHEST SEAFOOD FEAST! INSANE Seafood Meal at Dampa Market Manila Philippines

When I was in Manila Philippines I was told that I HAD to get some FRESH seafood at a local seafood market called Dampa. At this market, you shop for seafood items like fresh fish, crabs, clams, mussels, lobsters and then take the seafood to a number of local restaurants located nearby so they can prepare it for you in a variety of ways.
We also happened to run into a few very friendly friends from Saudia Arabia and went with them to their hotel for a Salmon and Rice feast. After which we returned to the seafood market, selected some fish, crab, clams, and prawns. We then headed for a restaurant called Hong Kong Master Cook and begin one of the most delicious seafood feasts I've ever had!
The seafood was prepared in many different ways and my favorite was the fish cooked in spicy chili broth. Also, the crab was some of the most tender onesI've ever had. I would highly recommend this seafood market if ever in Manila Philipines.

Saudi men are incredibly hospitable, gracious even and CLEAN. Just avoid talking religion. Then they resemble ALL other folks with deeply held creeds. I have had half a dozen Saudi make friends when I dabbled in Islam: Sunni and Shi'ites fought to win me over. It wasn't pretty. I resigned after a few months. I told them, I hated that violent rift. I dont do religion now.

+Abdullah Alaboud - Well obviously not in this case. But you have to be really careful about accepting offers like this in countries you're unfamiliar with. There are some nasty people out there that find tourists easy marks for whatever they're planning, double time this rule if you're female. But even a single male is taking a chance. I'd say never take up such an offer unless you outnumber the one inviting you and have talked long enough to get a gauge of their character. And even then, maybe just say another time.

You did the Filipino food justice. The whole Philippine series you did, thank you. There’s been so many chefs that I’ve watched on tv that hit up the Philippines, but you out did them all. It’s incredible to learn so much more about the Filipino food scene which I think is in it’s prime right now and still yet developing with creative fusions. I’m a Canadian born Filipino who grew up in the multicultural scene of Toronto and so thrilled to see you literally dissect and define Filipino food in a different light. You make me proud.

See the interesting thing with Filipino food is that it isn't even in it's prime yet in the traditional foods. It hasn't been refined to the extent that say, Japanese or French cuisine has undergone. And yet, it is freakin delicious and incredibly satisfying. Many of the younger chefs are into experimenting with more fusion influences but the real treasure yet to be tapped or rediscovered is in the traditional and historical dishes and foodstuffs.

Food is a bargaining tool for peace and friendship. Many people don't realize this; however, it is a truth about our species. Those who break bread together are immediately off their guard and find common ground. I wish more people would eat a new dish with a stranger. It is life changing for all involved.

Had to look that up. GoT reference? Not my thing, but I get the drift. What I was referencing pertains to real people in the real world. Real people, (unlike fictional characters) actually exist to exist and not to drive plot devices. Almost all of them would rather eat a meal than quarrel. Real people under most circumstances are less likely to want turmoil.

Middle Eastern hospitality culture is such a beautiful thing. I went to college at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and this video perfectly captures the memories that I have from my exposure to my friends' different cultures. Even though we were all struggling college kids, it is the only time that I have actually experienced people fighting over who pays the bill... not to avoid paying, but because each person wanted to generously pick up the tab for the table at the end of the meal. Good times!😊

We eat at this place regularly, and it's kind of surreal to see the vendors in youtube lmao. Best restaurant (or palutuan) in this place is GSquared. It's one of the first palutuans in the place, and one of the few that stayed. I recommend getting shrimp for tempura, crab for chili garlic, oysters for baked oysters, salmon sashimi (the freshest you can get), pork belly for salt& pepper grilled liempo. And i'm not sure what fish is used but just tell the vendor it's for "sinigang sa miso"
