A local hotpot place had pig brain and...well, I definitely overcooked it. They didn't tell me how long to cook it for and at the time it was so busy I was unable to ask. So I basically left it in for the whole rest of the meal and made it my last bite.

Fun fact: the reason why Haidilao has such exceptional service and so many complimentary things (free fruit, free drinks, free manicure), is to hide the fact that there's nothing about their food that stands out from any other hotpot restaurant. Most people go to Haidilao not for their food, but for their service and the manicure.

Oh, I don't want to be rude, let me give you the first portion of brains. Oh no, I don't want to be rude either. You first. No really, please eat this first. That is so sweet of you, but you first. I just feel that you should be the one who eats these first. I appreciate that, but don't rely on your feelings. You first. I would, but I want to be gracious, so you first. Let's put aside those petty emotions. You first.

I ate cow heart once, it was surprisingly good! I was surprised to see bull aorta here, it looked nothing like what I ate haha. The most exotic thing I’ve ever eaten was guinea pig in Peru, where it’s a common dish. It was gross haha, but like the duck tongue or the liver you either love it or hate it!

Cow's hearts are also really common in Peru! Actually, it's one of the most loved snacks and they are called anticuchos :D And yeah, a lot of people see guinea pigs like pets but, they very much came from here and are used as food cuz they are highly nutritive and taste amazing lol (they are super expensive tho).

So interesting! The way you described the pig brain sounds quite appealing! If I ever have the opportunity to try it, I will! I think it's a good thing to eat so many different parts of an animal, it seems more respectful to do that, rather than kill it for only a few pieces of 'standard' meat.

Everyone gangsta until the hotpot ain’t hot anymore, and you’re stuck with uncooked meat. Happened to me once when I went out to Niagara Falls with family friends, and when the gas-lit stove ran outta gas, we didn’t have anything to cook our meat. We ate out at a restaurant tho, so I guess it wasn’t that bad.
