In this video we are going to see how to edit photos using the frequency separation technique. Using this technique we separate the tones of the textures of the images and thus treat them separately.
We will also see the difference when working on 16-bit and 8-bit photos. The difference is in the way the image textures are obtained. The following parameters are used in 16-bit photos:
Layer: the tone layer
Invert: checked
Fusion: Add
Scale: 2
Offset: 0
In 8-bit photos the parameters would be:
Layer: the tone layer
Invert: unchecked
Fusion: Subtract
Scale: 2
Displacement: 128
The rest of the technique would be identical for both images.
