The first anomaly that genuinely made me want to scream. This is so simple, yet creepy. The way that the bumpers and logos are transformed into unreadable messes and how the bumpers go from seemingly understandable to a black void with eyes standing at the viewer is done so well. Bravo.

Using the AI generated images was just... (chef's kiss)! I always felt like those images evoked a weird dreamlike feeling, like when you try to read something in a dream but it's all garbled nonsense. It feels like my perception of reality is being messed with. It's so perfect! Well done! 😭🙏💖

Seeing the Ed Boys and Cartoon Inc logo being turned into incomprehensible images, accompanied by the reversed music genuinely sent shivers down my spine. Rest of the video was great as well, up there as one of my favourite anomalies.

My head canon: - During the end credits of an episode of "Ed, Edd 'n Eddy", Tele-Blue's artificial intelligence scan is put into effect, but in a corrupt state due to poor connection to the satellite feed. The credits are removed, and the background image is corrupted, before abruptly cutting to a heavily modified version of the "AKA Cartoons Inc." logo that glitches out, again due to the poor frequency and connection. - While trying to regain connection to the satellite, various CN City "next" bumpers play in a corrupted state with the show icons either blank or including portions of the "CARTOON NETWORK" text. The first bumper uses a traditional bumper background and reversed music and is interrupted by VAL before it can end properly, but the second bumper is the "Pop's Moon Palace" bumper corrupted by VAL's failing AI. Both bumpers end with a "blank" CN logo. - VAL's face is briefly seen on screen as the TV attempts to sync up with the feed again, only for the corruption to increase. The third bumper is simply a black screen, with blank icons and nonsense text accompanied by somber piano music. After a long delay, the "blank" CN logo appears, filling up the entire screen. As a last ditch effort, VAL attempts once more to return the viewer to regular programming, but to no avail as CN blocks the broadcast. - Throughout the video, VAL is seen in a more demented shape than she was before, possibly a result of the lack of proper connection or CN potentially enforcing measures to prevent VAL from corrupting their channel. I wonder why CN took this long to take notice of VAL, especially considering we've yet to see any evidence of VAL impacting the channel in the 90s. Maybe VAL began seeing less and less value in Nick because they weren't airing as much animation, and thus pursued CN to fulfill their needs? Head canon over, I just wanted to say I really love this series especially as someone who grew up with similar odd anxieties in the 2000s / 2010s when cable TV was slowly dying out. This video perfectly captures both the sense of childhood nostalgia but also dread and even fear of things that aren't normally that scary.

Good god that has got to be one of the worst malfunctions/anomalies to ever occur in the "We'll Be Right Back" series. Rather than everything straight up disappearing or going silent, the entire thing just screws up and becomes a mess. I wasn't really scared of this, but damn did VAL have it pretty bad here!

this has to be one of my favorite tapes thus far. how every single thing on the screen just turns into jumbled mess, its kinda like an ai with words, it like fucks the words up. well done.

holy shit. imagine if you were a 5 year-old watching the credits, waiting for a new cartoon to air, but suddenly, everything goes from normal to BLEEEGHE ACK ACK that happens here.

This is my new favorite tape. While the other ones were disturbing (although I found Telegames, and Rap Rat disappointing), this one made me genuinely terrified when watching it the whole way through. I especially liked what you did with the A K A production logo, that always scared me as a kid. This tape also made VAL great again in my opinion. When I was watching this, I didn't think "Oh look, it's the creepy face", I thought "Oh god, what is this?" This tape was terrifying, I kept looking away from the screen because I was too scared to see what would show up. On top of the liminal spaces, the glitches and errors, the buildup and atmosphere, and the decaying of VAL, I was surprised with this tape, and this made me scared of the series again. Excellent work on your part

I love all the effort that goes into these videos. The cable ui interface is EXACTLY the same cable box ui I had growing up, you got all this down to a tea! Amazing content.

the title of this video (frequency failure) is probably what happened when something seemed to literally make V.A.L. (virtual analysis line) have a stroke and this is why we see the distorted images, such as the AI generated-like ones, thus the “failure” in the title. the frequency probably has something to do with the station somehow seeing that something is trying to interfere with the broadcast. or what VAL is trying to do. when this happened, this is most likely the cause of why from the time period of 2003-around 2011(?) gave val the ability to infect VHSs, and mess around with teleblue stuff. i could be totally wrong or sort of on the right track.

The emptiness of the bumpers really are what shakes your bones, after all, silence is a scary sound.

HPEI is such an underrated show, ahh memories 😌

So my guess is that because of a poor connection or something, VAL got all screwed up, with certain images appearing to be scrambled. I’m also curious about that piano music.

this is the most unnerving video yet, jesus ...given the types of faces here, i'm starting to doubt that v.a.l. is completely inorganic at this point. but that might just be me reading too much into a visual shift.

oh nice, 2am video that manages to scratch an itch of oddly specific things that give me unreasonable anxiety

As I said on the original upload, this is probably one of the scariest episodes yet ! Great work as always :)

In most cases I would agree with this, but seeing as VAL is pretty much at distress here and would probably be fed up at this point, I think it makes sense for her to jumpscare the viewer. One thing's for sure, she's not happy.

This feels better than any analog horror I’ve ever seen. The fear I get from this evokes a feeling I haven’t felt in years… This feeling of seeing some creepy, eerie, what would eventually become lost bumper on tv as a kid, having weird fever dreams/nightmares about it. Like the feeling of seeing s tv bumper as a very small child at night in a way that TRULY truly unnerved you in a way you can’t recapture. This is the kind of stuff we NEED.

ok, that's just.. very unnerving. the fact that VAL, instead of doing stuff like removing faces and letters, literally distorts characters onto being near unrecognizable, and also music too. and also the multiple times the lot of eyes were seen. this literally made my jaw drop, nice nightmare fuel ya got there. never fails to scare me! [though, does anyone know the name of the piano music at 1:58?]

As someone who had this video show up in their recommendations, IMO, you really didn't need the creepy faces (though, I've read some other comments and it seems to have a narrative purpose, so I guess it's not a huge issue). I think the concept is scary enough to stand on its own. That being said, this is a really unique concept and I think you executed it quite well, great job! :D

i have no idea what the overarching plot is because this is the first video of yours that i've watched but this perfectly emulates the kind of nightmares i used to have when i was a kid so bravo for that

it’s hard to describe the sorta technological errors in the bumpers, especially with the second one, it’s like the CN typeface is a placeholder image for if someone didn’t put a show image in it, like it just blows my mind how u can make smth like this, the eyes at the end of the first bumper unnerved me a lot since young me used to be scared shitless of that sort of thing

this series is way too scary I can't watch this without pausing and scrubbing the timeline

Somebody messed her up

Me waiting for an episode of Code Lyoko to come on: Gets drink from fridge. Me after the first five minutes of a Code Lyoko episode: Throws up in nearby toilet, then posts about it on Facebook. Me halfway through a Code Lyoko episode: Screen goes black with XANA's Eye in red. Me after seeing that same screen for 7½ minutes: Turns off TV and plays a Nintendo Switch game after seeing a Technical Difficulties screen come up.

This video is probably one of best examples how AI generated images should be used. Great job 👌
